Hope all the protest voters/non-voters are happy.

You should ingest feces and perish

Blaming people for not wanting to vote for 99% Hitler instead of 100% Hitler is not the win that you think it is

We embraced fascism in the US with open arms, but hey, at least we didn't have to pick the lesser of two evils! Great job everyone...

Biden sanctioned only 4 settlers in February. He may have expanded it to a few dozen, but this was a useless move when there’s literally over 600,000 settlers breaking international law. Heck, there’s more than 4 murders of Palestinians by settlers per month. Biden did the equivalent of leaving a penny as a tip, and it’s just as insulting.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 3 points 21 hours ago

Biden resorting to not-even-half-measures? Color me gobsmacked.

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We all knew who he was going to back.

Who's is "we all"?

There were a large cohort of Americans who were protesting the Biden Harris administration and promoting the anti-vote for Harris. Some blame this group for Harris' loss. In my personal experience, it seemed like the vast majority of people were not aware of Trump's history or intentions regarding Israel. When I tried to inform people, I was banned from a community on Lemmy for being antisemitic and a genocide lover.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 8 points 22 hours ago

Those people were willfully ignorant.

Everyone with a fucking brain knew that while Harris was a shitty choice on the issue of the genocide in Palestine Trump was much much shittier.

All those fucks talking about how there wasn't a real choice were, at best, useful idiots.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago

Non-stupid people knew who he was going to support. Not even smart people, just not-stupid people.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 3 points 21 hours ago

That large cohort couldn't find their own asses with a map and a flashlight.

It was entirely a manipulation tactic originating from the Trump campaign.

I hope all the people that refused to vote democrat over the Palestinian genocide take full responsibility and ownership for everything that follows with Trump's foreign policy. They approved of and enabled this.

Which is why the dickheads who enabled him (but claimed to support Palestine ) are dickheads

[–] finder585@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

But didn't you hear! Trump single-handedly managed to get a ceasefire deal with Israel and HAMAS signed.

Clearly something Genocide Joe refused to do!

(The Biden administration have been working on a ceasefire deal for months. Now the elections in the West are over, there is no need for the war to continue.)

Narrator: They would not take responsibility for their actions nor acknowledge their complicity in furthering human suffering. In fact, they would use their experience in mental gymnastics honed in defending their patronage of Chick-fil-A, Hobby Lobby, and that local coffee shop that advertises that they specifically don't use fair trade beans and whose owner cruises around town in a replica of the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, adorned with a bumper sticker that reads:

"The owner of this vehicle has never seen the popular TV Show 'The Dukes of Hazzard' or any of its cinematic adaptations and really just unironically likes the Confederate Battle Flag and the ideals of human slavery that it represents. How the hell are we going to fit this whole statement on a bumper sticker? Wait. You're not typing that out too are you? You know what, fuck it. They paid up front and this gag is just getting too long without adding much in the way of humor to the situation. Just ship it."

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 day ago

They won't.

You're gonna see something like "Joe was nowhere near as bad but still imperfect so we either begged for or allowed Trump to happen to pwn the Dems".

Somehow, to them, that means it's still Biden's fault for their voting for Trump.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com -5 points 1 day ago

I see the democrats are still blaming everyone but themselves for 20mill of them staying home.

[–] BestBouclettes@jlai.lu 4 points 23 hours ago

Wow, what a surprise!

[–] shekau@lemmy.today -1 points 1 day ago

Donald Trumpberg

If only Harris had won, then we could at least have had some hand-wringing!

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Huurrr duuurr Harris so bad

If you think this tid hitnis bad, this is day 1 of a 4 year tenure. Palestinians are going to be fucked beyond and it all could have been avoided

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 0 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

99% of the people whining about Genocide Joe never gave a shit about the Palestinians. They were just using concern trolling as an excuse not to make unpalatable decisions.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

99% of the people bitching about those people also don't care about Palestinians though let's be honest.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, the democrats would at least of said it was a shame while they killed them! Trump mudering them is just meaner!

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 4 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Trump is removing sanctions on west bank settlers - this wasn't even in the realm of possibility for Harris' camp.

This isn't "just meaner" this is accelerating genocide.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 3 points 20 hours ago

No point arguing with someone who is only capable of simplistic, binary thinking.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Telling Israeli villagers on occupied land in Palestine that they aren’t allowed to directly do business with American corporations isn’t a punishment. Sanctions on settlers have no practical effect whatsoever, and if you believe they do, then they were effective at the only thing they were imposed for, and that’s public relations. It allowed democrats to pretend they were doing something useful.

In other words, you’re gullible.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 2 points 20 hours ago

A lot of settlers have ties to the US. Some of the most virulently ultranationalist of those assholes are from Long Island and New Jersey. Sanctions, and especially a travel ban, would make a huge difference.
