All those sensitive forms that still have to go through fax will be picked up by email.

Just kill me and be done with it.

Sender - uses email to fax software

Recipient - uses fax to email software.

because, since fax machines are older than telephones, they have had time to be written into law.

Because the oldest people making decisions don't understand technology and refuse to accept that better ways are available if old ways still work. Fax machine users would rather work harder than smarter.

I received a fax at work once, 10 years ago. The subcontractor has issues with their email so they call me to warn me they were faxing me the document I needed.

It took me a good 2 hours to finally locate the fax machine in the factory, no one had any idea that we still had a fax machine running.

I think you can send faxes to computers and they just get received as emails with attached PDFs. It's not great because of course it's just a picture of a document, so it's not searchable or editable unless you run it through an OCR program.

Because the fax machine prints a confirmation that it was received

What the hell. I haven't seen one in decades.

Outdated meme. We now use email to send around scanned documents. FUTUR!

I'm not sure what the problem is here. It's at least as good as fax in terms of security. And you can more easily index it.

And way better than something like DocuSign or whatever cloud based hosted service that you cannot actually control...

Protocols, not products

Facsimile is not secure at all. Modern email is at least going to encrypt in transit.

Like it or not, you can now talk to ChatGPT using a Fax. Innovation made in Germany!
