Just skip the jar and get some crushed tomatoes. If you're adding a bunch of stuff there's no reason not to just make it. It's like 20 minutes.

This is how I do it. I recommend getting good quality canned tomatoes. It makes a world of difference from whatever they use in the ready made jars and costs about the same.
