Typical market manipulation move. He'll probably announce something regarding bitcoin and the federal reserve today to artificially bump that up too.

There's literally no reason besides market manipulation. Even if he knew how to drive, the president is not allowed to drive for the rest of their life after being elected.

It's not a law, but more of a rule enforced by the secret service. Ever since JFK the secret service has restricted the ability of the president to drive outside of private property. There was one time during Obama's presidency when the secret service went into an immediate panic when decided to drive around the white house.

So I guess you technically could, it's just an incredibly stupid thing to do. It's an easy way to piss off the secret service and put your life at risk for no reason.

Sounds like our actions are having an effect. Not one more penny to Elon the Nazi.

Also never forget:

No Pesos for Bezos

When their dealerships look like this, yeah I think they're noticing the pitchforks.

he already got given a cybertruck, why not parade that around

Ironically, presidents aren't even allowed to drive.

And even if they were, I wonder if Turnip even knows how to drive a golf cart, let alone an automobile..? 🤔

[–] El_Scapacabra@lemm.ee 43 points 1 day ago

He knows how to drive businesses and countries into the ground.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean... It's a secret service rule, but we know how Trump feels about "norms and traditions".

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Daily internet challenge...

Find any video footage of Turnip driving anything...

Honorary mention for any legit evidence whatsoever that he even comprehends how wheels work, like does he even know how to ride a ~~bicycle~~ tricycle?

No cheating, no AI, is there any evidence that the orange turnip knows anything about the wheel?

Come on interwebsters, we're waiting...

Commenting to see the results. I was so amused by the pix of the shrub falling off a Segway.

Doesn't count, because he's not driving and only demonstrating the most rudimentary understanding of how it works, but this was the first thing that came to mind.

What a silly rule! Where I'm from, an active president can drive a scooter to go meet his mistress.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The executive branch isn't allowed to endorse a product. It's even more on-the-nose this time than with the Goya situation.

Pretty sure he's doing this intentionally to tie up the courts with frivolous, bullshit cases so they never get around to any important ones.

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Short of turning the white house into a Tesla dealership, I don't think it could be more on-the-nose than the Goya situation.

Trump advertising Goya beans on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office

[–] Mbourgon@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

The last day I ever bought Goya. Actively avoid them now.

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Completely out of context, iwas down a Goya rabbit hole, when i came across this:

Goya Foods, through its Goya Gives global initiative, is sending ready-to-serve Goya food and beverages to the people of East Palestine and surrounding areas in response to the Ohio train derailment.

I was so confused, then remembered you guys really have a lot of city names, where my mind goes to max effort trying to geo localize what I'm reading.

I love Paris and Berlin.

[–] toofpic@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Or he is a narcissist and never thinks he will be judged by anyone in or outside court?

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 19 points 1 day ago

Wow. Musk pays millions to get Trump elected.

Trump offers to buy a single Tesla in response. Which he won't do anyway, because he's too cheap to pay for anything, so he'll get given it for free and won't drive it because he's not allowed. He's driven everywhere in The Beast which weighs about 10 tonnes.

If trump buys a tesla, the brand will never shake off the stink

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

~~If trump buys a tesla,~~ the brand will never shake off the stink

FTFY

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yet, won't you admit that even the suggestion adds another layer of stink to swasticars?

Didn't some YouTuber already give Trump a Cybertruck?

[–] AlternatePersonMan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not sure is that person liked it hated Trump given the safety record of the vehicle...

[–] Tempus_Fugit@midwest.social 1 points 1 day ago

Well that person sniffed the shit stained chair of Andrew Tate out of admiration, so that should tell you all you need to know about them.

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 day ago

Cheaper than buying eggs, right?

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I wonder how his fans will react to that. Will they get angry that their idol buys a "woke" electric car or will they suddenly wish they could afford one too?

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Either way we win.

Option 1: Tesla sales continue to tank.

Option 2: The MAGA cult all go completely electric.

[–] BanjoShepard@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe the entire Musk strategy is to appeal to conservative consumers to save the planet from ICE emissions. 5D chess. /Satire.

These guys would tase their own nuts if they thought it would make them look cool to little d and the rest of their cult.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Oh yeah, this will help Tesla's brand image....

lol. the local news had a quote from trump saying the left is illegally boycotting the company. WTF!

[–] potate@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

Trump pay for something? Yea right...

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Tesla has been due for a correction since forever. A single car company couldn't be worth $1T unless they sold every car in the American market, new and used.

Tesla's value was always a bubble and I'm gratified by the popping sound.

And by buy, he means that's he expect Elon to loan one to him and never return it
