Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia had trapped the remaining Ukrainian soldiers in its western Kursk region, where they have held on for more than seven months in one of the most important battles of the war.

Man, what a peace-loving guy! Damn Ukraine for not stopping the war! >:/

Ukraine shouldn't have started it by wanting to be independent of Russia.

Edit: do I really need to add /s?

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 2 days ago

Ukraine asked for it. By the way she dressed. If Ukraine didn't want to be invaded, she should have just kept an aspirin between her knees

Accept that there are those lurking here whos only purpose is to downvote good and accurate content. So for the real lemmy users, no you don't have to add it. For the ones who are only here to stir up trouble. Why bother.

So... Let me check I get this right on the timeline.

America Europe Ukraine meet, agree to a 30 day ceasefire. Agree this tests if Russia is serious about ending the war. Putin gobbs off, surrender or die.

Categorical that Russia is not serious about ending the war.

Next steps boys

[–] Sirus@lemm.ee 10 points 2 days ago

The next step is to get Putin to a table and poison or radiate him and end it that way.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Trump gets angry how his perfect plan fails, calls for sanctions and increased weapon delivered to Ukraine of of spite.

Or he sulks in the corner focuses on his trade war and bans media outlets that point out how terrible is at negotiation.

[–] Xanza@lemm.ee 1 points 2 days ago

Because they need Ukrainian resources or the Russian state goes bankrupt and that's the end of Russia.

Europe, I hope y'all are doing the whole "speak quietly and carry a big stick."

Because if Putin steam rolls Ukraine, he's not stopping there, and now he has the US government under his control too.

[–] cool@lemmings.world 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

If Europe really wanted to stop Russia, they would've sent armies into Ukraine.

"We don't want to escalate because it might start WW3!"

But Putin is going to attack you guys anyways when he's done with Ukraine.

"Yes, but this is the rhetoric dumbasses have been told to peddle so that's what we're doing!"

I still remember when people said Ukraine shouldn't mine its border because it would be seen as "escalation." Funny how the wrong-crowd always scatters like roaches after the damage is done.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

They have scheduled a committee meeting to decide where to plant the tree from which they might someday get big sticks.

[–] Pistcow@lemm.ee 55 points 2 days ago

Bro, you don't even have the strongest army inside of Russia.

[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago

Fucking war criminal.

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hm this is going to be a real speedbump on the way to Trump's Nobel

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I heard that Duterte got his Nobel price for his hard work in the Filipines! C'mon putin, visit Cancun but why not have some touchdowns along the way. See if you can tell interpol from cute dancers or maybe food servants? The interpol has your price! Come get it!

[–] Naevermix@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So more weapons and aid to Ukraine it is then.

[–] cool@lemmings.world -3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They can't win without additional troops.

I wish I could say I don't know why you people don't realize it, but I get it now.

[–] Tuuktuuk@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago

The Russia cannot win without additional troops either. And they cannot get those.

Eventually the Russia's economy will collapse, and at that point it will lose the war and has to leave Ukraine.

Ukraine cannot win the war, but has enough support that it also will not lose it. The Russia cannot win the war, and doesn't have enough support to avoid eventually losing it.

Once the Russia has lost the war, it has to leave Ukraine, because then there's nothing it can do to stop Ukrainian forces from taking its territories back.

It is irrelevant that Ukraine cannot win the war, since the Russia is doomed to lose it.

Nah you can totally trust people who use the terms "or die" in peace negotiations
