I love that he didn't even give a hint. The other person might have gone about teir day being happy to have helped.

Yeah that's a nice reaction, the other dude wasn't being a jerk so no need to make him feel bad about it.

"Hey, here's a useful thing that I recommend to people: "

It's basically a compliment

[–] arandomthought@sh.itjust.works 27 points 1 month ago

Absolutely!

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 2 points 1 month ago

That's not always good. Maybe they just did not read the handle and assumed someone random asked, but didn't know they wanted this library. That's probably a good assumption, too.

I just had someone send me a link to that when I asked a question. Infuriating.

[–] killeronthecorner@lemmy.world 52 points 1 month ago

He says that but I bet he never even checked it out smh

[–] MostlyBlindGamer@rblind.com 50 points 1 month ago (1 children)

With enough zooming, even I can tell it’s the same profile picture. Wow.

[–] Bazoogle@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Not to mention the identical user names. But idk, could be a different colinhacks.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago (2 children)

lol “strongly typed”, “loosely typed”.

I don’t even use variables anymore. Wake up sheeple.

[–] voodooattack@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

I just use window["…"] to hold my variables.

So... pure functional programming w/ out state?

[–] MostlyBlindGamer@rblind.com 3 points 1 month ago

No, registers and bit-wise manipulation. In a Minecraft server running in the browser.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 32 points 1 month ago

That's a whole lot more wholesome than most of what goes on in the Stack Overflow arenas.

Look at the profile pictures.

[–] Scoopta@programming.dev 3 points 1 month ago

Or just the usernames

[–] pixeltree@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago

That's honestly a really nice interaction

[–] vane@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I liked typescript until I started working with people who like strict types.

[–] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What's wrong with strict types?

[–] rektdeckard@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sigh. Guess I need the joke explained?

[–] rektdeckard@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

It's the people who love to talk about strict types that tend to be the problem

[–] AnotherPenguin@programming.dev 4 points 1 month ago

It could be any colinhacks, you know?

[–] Tudsamfa@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

But Doctor, I am Pagliacci!
