Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

TOS s2e3 "The Changeling"

He said the thing! Of course, Nomad is able to revive Scotty minutes later. What's fucked up is that it also erased Uhura's mind, but couldn't restore her memories. The solution? Oh, we'll just re-teach her everything. She won't remember a damn thing about her former self or even possibly have the same personality, but hey, she can still do the job! And as with all TV magic, by the next episode it's like it never even happened.

What’s fucked up is that it also erased Uhura’s mind, but couldn’t restore her memories.

In TNG they would have done some kind of transporter fuckery to restore the state of her brain's molecules to the last time she transported somewhere, or something like that. Too bad TOS transporter chiefs weren't as talented as our Miles!

I've recently been following my own fan canon that Scotty is O'Brien. He found some ensign schmuck (O'Brien), buffered, records erased, removed his memory engrams, copied his memories into the template, set a timed release from a discreet transport unit, Bob's your uncle, and a new chief engineer emerges.

The Scotty recovered in TNG is just a stray copy. Miracle worker indeed.

Janice Rand and Spock were both part of the TOS main cast that were removed and broke that status quo, albeit with Spock it was only for most of 1 movie. When the series was being released, were there concerns about George Takei permanently leaving during his hiatus/intermittent absences?

The Uhura mindwipe annoys me, like she’d be a totally different person at the end of it and it also implies that she’s replaceable and not special if that information could just be taught to anybody. The way she pronounces the word “blue” as “bloo-ee” while relearning has influenced how I want to read “BlueSky” as “bloo-skee”.

Scratch that, reverse it.

Figured they were close. Thanks for the update, guys.

I had no idea those were released so close. For some reason, I thought Doctor Who was far older.

Ahh yes, the episode that was basically the same plot as the first movie.

So many recycled plots.
