Fun fact

Before the incident that gave him his scar, the name that Scar's parents gave him was Taka. Which means "Trash".

So yeah, dude maybe had a little right to be vindictive.

Tbf, they were spot-on with the OG name

Nominative determinism though.

All this makes me think that his parents gave him that scar. And then named him Scar.

[-] Walop@sopuli.xyz 48 points 1 year ago

Actually he was named Taka (meaning "waste" or "want" in Swahili) and took the name Scar later, because of his.. scar. Or Askari, the extended universe is contradictory on this.

Wait.. the lion king has an extended universe? :o

[-] WarmSoda@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

It's got nothing on Babar the Elephants extended universe.

If nothing else there is like 10 years of cartoons across 2 series.

No it is two, how dare you forget about Lion King 1½

That isn't 2, that is one and a half.

Dig a tunnel, dig, dig a tunnel!

[-] WalrusDragonOnABike@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

So if we add all the movies together we get 3(Lion King) 4 1/2?

[-] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

By my calculations 3 + 1½ equals 1 lion king movie, but it could be biased by me watching it in the cinema as a teen?

[-] Oka@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

That was a funny take. I want to rewatch it. Timon and Pumba were there from the beginning

Being recognized for your cool scar is way better than going by 'Waste'.
