If you see a thirsty woman drink detergent at Walmart... no you didn't.

Yeah, apparently they've started opening Walmarts in French rivers for some reason 🤷

It is also just a word? Isle just isn't the right aisle

I know. I was trying and failing to be funny 🤷

You wouldn't get it, you don't have TikTok

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 10 points 1 week ago

Thank god i don't get it.

Ok as someone who doesn't have TikTok, I'm now curious if this is purely a joke or there's some kind of disturbing trend I have missed

Probably a reference to the Tide pod thing a few years back

[–] PlutoniumAcid@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Would a person actually do that? Isn't that an instant trip to the hospital?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I doubt a person could drink bleach without instantly retching.

[–] TheSlad@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Laundry detergents dont have bleach in them

But are probably still very soaplike and difficult to drink without doing the technicolor yawn..

i think i knew of someone in our middle school who permanently lost his voice because he'd drunk some detergent. never knew why or how but the thought was horrifying tbh. he still sounded better than RFK Jr though.

just did some cursory looking into this. Apparently most of the bottles of liquid detergent will mostly just upset your stomach, and may cause no issues at all. The pods are different, they have stronger caustic chemicals in them for them to work correctly, so those are dangerous.

This lady figured out the vast liquid conspiracy where companies charge you extra for “consumable” liquids.

This is why we don't put TIde Pods on the snack aisle anymore.
