Is calling it Twitter is deadnaming?
Maybe we should tell this pervert of Mr Musk we call it Twitter as long he is referring to his daughter by her penis.
Companies didn't rename themselves. Rich CEOs renamed them against their will.

If shareholders didn't do anything to stop it, then this is their will.
But given that it's a stupid decision, I've elected to ignore it.

A lot of these aren't technically dead-names. They're parent corporations that exist to shuffle around profits and minimize tax and regulatory liabilities. Facebook and Google both continue to exist as properties owned by Meta and Alphabet.

I think we should call it x. Twitter was this pioneering microblogging site. X is an extremist echo chamber that was created in 2023.
Funny thing is Twitter was cesspool even before Musk got his hands on it. I was actually impressed he managed to make it significantly worse.

The Meta rebrand was definitely about escaping baggage associated with the name Facebook. Alphabet you're right about though.
They also wanted to own VR and rebrand it as meta. I don’t think that moved worked out for them.
