Jesus is probably already held in an ICE detention facility anyway.

Don’t ever forget that the people in charge are using religion as an excuse to justify their actions. Not only their hate but also their vindication come for their undying beliefs.

Religion is a cult and a tool used by oppressors throughout history. It needs to be abolished just like any Nazi ideology.

I thought that was a joke about the Spanish name “Jesus.”

[–] Beryl@jlai.lu 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It kinda was. Then again, both Jesús' and Jesus of Nazareth's skin color would make them prime targets for ICE.

[–] Tja@programming.dev 6 points 1 day ago

That's Jesús.

Hrm, good PSA. I gotta teach my kid how to say nope to Jesus.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (2 children)

What helped me as a kid was going to church every Sunday. Just do that.

Reading the whole Bible (not just the feel-good parts) is what did it for me!

As a European brought up free from any kind faith or religion, it can sometimes be tough to decide which level of religious extremism is worst, that in the US, Israel or the Iran.

This comic comes from A.C.E or Accelerated Christian Education. I know, because that was my high school curriculum. It wasn't the worst edition, but these comics were a complete joke to everyone in the school because of how lame/confusing they could be. Look up the character names if you need a good laugh

Haha I thought it was a chick tract

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've seen too many chick tracts to get tricked by this one! Oh god I've seen too many chick tracts.

The art and writing are somehow worse.

Was subjected to this shit too.

Ronny, you're creating a hostile workplace. I'm reporting you to HR. Don't discuss religion at work.

Ronny feels good about himself.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Ronny thinks he's an American.

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

He's the guy with laser eyes?

“It’s too late Ronny here’s right here in my hand, where you can’t see him because he’s not real.”

That's so very Christian. Oh yes, this nice young kid who gleefully responded to let you sit next to him just isn't interested in your religion and respectfully declined your unwarranted solicitation. That means he's a sinner and you have to actively self-regulate not to hate him?

That whole pamphlet is creepy as fuck.

  • The President looks like she would praise the lord while you get punished for "being not faithful enough" or some shit
  • The Mum in the Mother/Daughter photo smiles like a shark before a good meal
  • The adult man in the first box of the comic strip has the look of a predator fixated on Ronny
  • The face of the child in front of the PC says "let me out of this crazy cult which put a tie on me for home school"
  • In the description of the 4 elements of the "Reading Enhancement Program" the word "drill" is used a total of 8 times.
  • During the "Service Adventure" (something like a int'l exchange program to help/proselytize to the poor unwashed masses in mexico) the person from Thailand said that he learned survival skills like eating new tastes of food and drinks, sleeping on the floor and learning carpentry and sewing (the last two things are at least useful)
  • The most important thing for impoverished children around the world isn't food, water, a safe place to sleep and education, but... the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

People who like this might enjoy the newsletter and podcast of the Friendly Atheist. Also, check the American Hysteria episodes about Chick Tracts for some unhinged christian cartoons. I'm not affiliated, just a podcast nerd.

That’s cool but substack is activity platforming and enabling Nazis to monetize themselves.

Tell creators to leave whenever you can.
