I sometimes collect roadside horse shit voluntarily, it's a good fertilizer

You would think that fascists who glorify the military would at least put effort into making a show of it, but no, it's exactly as trash as everything else they put their grubby little hands on.

If we're going to have a dystopian future the least they could do is blast some dark synth over the whole thing.

[–] Carmakazi@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fascists can and do put on a proper show, but the American subspecies of fascist is particularly lazy and stupid.

[–] notabot@piefed.social 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Probably best not to go wishing for the motivated and smart kind. This is bad, that would be worse.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

When the best thing that you can say about a fascist is that they're incompetent.

Well, I mean, the BEST thing you can say about a fascist is that they're dead. But you know what I mean.

[–] rottingleaf@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

This is a trap, when a fascist seems incompetent, they are just masking. Competence is almost irrelevant to fascism, fascism is a one way processor of human resources and materiel into a certain kind of regime. That doesn't require competence.

So incompetent fascists should be detected and eliminated similarly to competent fascists.

BTW yes, that's right, even those Prussia-LARPing Chilean parades are utter crap, no lockstep, no organization, goosestepping looks like capoeira, the orchesters are crap, the drums even don't hit the right rhythm ...

Really seems to be a pattern.

We’re the hottest county in the world

"See, Death Valley is the hottest spot on the planet, and it's in the US. So we're the hottest country in the world!"

[–] themoonisacheese@sh.itjust.works 3 points 16 hours ago

Probably not even true, it's just the hottest spot we've bothered to stick a thermometer

Simultaneously no seating, crowded, and low turnout?

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 4 points 15 hours ago

It didn't say crowded.

If I had a party of five people, and had zero chairs, that'd be a seating problem.

Fascists make everything worse. Even the stuff they claim to be good at.

Trump quoted Galaxy Quest for his “big line”

Tim Allen did it better while doing an okay job portraying a mediocre TV actor.

"Sherman twank"

[–] bacon_pdp@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, the official count was only 8,647 people in attendance

Talk about a self own

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

A joke number, 86 47 is a meme about getting rid of Trump.

The actual number is unclear, but I've seen estimates from 20,000 up to 50,000.

The Trump administration is claiming 250,000, but the visual evidence is rather... starkly in contradiction to that.

For reference, there were about 6,000 servicemembers in the parade itself.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

A fine use of my taxes.

[–] bacon_pdp@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don’t think the parade members could count in that crowd total as they are not part of the crowd.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

I wasn't counting them as part of the crowd total, just pointing out how few audience members there were for each person in the parade.
