"[Trump] doesn't like it when people are off message," a senior official said

Donald Trump reportedly revealed to close aides that he has been considering dissolving the office ran by the Director of National Intelligence, a position currently held by Tulsi Gabbard, alleging that she does not add to his administration.

The idea stemmed from a brief video posted to social media by Gabbard earlier this month, in which the former Hawaii representative rattled off about how "political elite and warmongers" are "carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers," adding that the world is "on the brink of nuclear annihilation."

And now Tulsi, you will be tossed aside like a used condom at a frat party… nobody will ever wanna touch you again and we’re all very surprised that you got to do anything at all.

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

this is an appropriate comment

[–] nkat2112@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago

I second the motion you raised - the comment is very appropriate indeed. Thank you.

well I hope he doesn it, she is a fucking traitor and a dimwit. that nuclear war video that she just put out was completely fucking weird.

the more people that leave that administration the better I think

[–] Jolly_Platypus@lemmy.world 19 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Still can't believe America was this stupid to put this traitor back in charge.

[–] F1gm3nt3d@lemmy.world 7 points 3 hours ago

I understand this sentiment but, as an American, if you've been alive for 3 decades plus, you've witnessed immense stupidity on behalf of America and Americans, electing Trump again was just the logical conclusion.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Trump or gabbard?

They’re both traitors ….

/sigh. Doesn’t matter.

See you July 17th?

I'm a fan of your comments and, bloody affirmative, see you on July 17. Thank you and have a good day.

Heartbreaking, the worst person you know just made a great point

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemm.ee 14 points 8 hours ago

“Intelligence” is “woke”

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 79 points 11 hours ago (4 children)

I hope all his other fanboys in the government are paying attention. First Musk and now Gabbard. This is how fragile their loyalty actually is. You can suck his dick all day, but as soon as you make one wrong move you are no longer on the winning team. It happens with all fascists, there's no reason it'd be different here.

[–] BestBouclettes@jlai.lu 14 points 8 hours ago

Trump will always throw your ass under the bus at some point, no matter how loyal you've been. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a delusional moron.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

The toadies know that. They have no shame or self respect.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 37 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

They have to know by now. They all think they're the special one. The whole MAGA fascist project is built on the principle of "leopards won't eat my face.*"

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 7 points 7 hours ago

It's a mistake to think they're all comedically stupid. They're definitely stupid enough that we wouldn't enjoy their company, but they're smart enough to know that if they can hang around until DT dies, whoever's left will become something even more dangerous - and far more malleable.

[–] mgnome@piefed.social 7 points 9 hours ago

I think the initial motive for her appointment may have been to later eat her face. Turncoat who doesn't mind taking money from Russia, Iran, even Assad. Of course she'd say Iran wasn't building a nuke (peaceful 60% enriched uranium, y'know).

They specifically placed the most useless person as head of intelligence to paralyze entire agency and then dismiss it.

[–] SexualPolytope@lemmy.sdf.org 18 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Anyone who thinks trump won't fuck them in an instant is a moron. Especially if they're brown.

[–] YoiksAndAway@lemmy.zip 28 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

I'm no expert in the workings of the executive branch of government by any means, but maybe, just maybe if he'd appointed someone with actual experience in national intelligence he wouldn't have this problem.

[–] papertowels@mander.xyz 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Doubt, trump is famous for refusing to read intelligence briefings. He just wants to surround himself with sycophants.

[–] baronvonj@lemmy.world 31 points 11 hours ago

maybe if he'd appointed someone with actual experience in national intelligence he wouldn't have this problem.

Trump would have had a problem with them much sooner. He doesn't care how effective his appointees are at the job, he cares hours consistently they praise him and support whatever he says. Tulsi said things that contradict him, before he said them, and it makes him look dumb when reporters throw back at him what she said first.

[–] ShadowRam@fedia.io 8 points 11 hours ago

Or actual intelligence

[–] Draegur@lemmy.zip 12 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Fell for it again award for tulsi

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 14 points 9 hours ago (1 children)
[–] nkat2112@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago

This is brilliantly appropriate. Pray tell, have you posted this separately on the political memes topic? I'll go check, but if not, please do so. This is gold. Gross, but gold.

[–] ALoafOfBread@lemmy.ml 16 points 11 hours ago

I mean she probably adds some Russian espionage

[–] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 8 points 11 hours ago

That would be harm mitigation

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 7 points 11 hours ago

Lol! This is such a self-own.
