Yes, Elon, you do have the charisma and popularity to launch a viable third party all on your own. This is your moment, believe in yourself and get out there and show the people who you really are!

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 58 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Actually This is cool and good. I would support the destruction of the two party system whatever it takes. I don't think the elites are brain rotted enough to make it happen.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

A third party that is even more hostile to workers while creating no basis for a fourth party to be viable is not cool and good.

[–] ProletarianDictator@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago

Yes it is. Destroying the two party dialectic opens the route for the dialectic to become reform vs. revolution. The fact that it is yet another reactionary party is great since we don't have to compete with it like we would with a socdem party.

[–] Aelis@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

Having a two party system is so dumb to begin with, but yes that way of thinking is the perfect road to a one party system (either directly or indirectly, either long or short term, which could be harmful regardless), the US are cooked anyway because no party could be made let alone survive unless backed by the rich and powerful..it would be anything but « giving the people a voice » 💀

Seize all of Musk's assets, deport him- immediately defund and imprison everyone in ICE

This is what I will be wishing for over the next week.

The Democratic Party's ultimate asset went undercover to infiltrate the Republicans and destroy it from within. This selfless hero sacrificed his popularity and credibility (and $280 million) for the good of the party. This was a plan 10 years in the making finally coming to fruition.

reddit party

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 39 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

What would his party even center on? Green energy? Techno nationalism?

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 61 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

literally nothing different from what's happening now except he gets money funneled to him

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 47 points 2 weeks ago

Ah yes the ideological diversity of fascism!

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 6 points 2 weeks ago

More blatantly being nazi than they already are being right now

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

Certianly not going to Mars or a near infinity sustainable power logistics space economy harvesting the rare earths for the taking and getting humanity to a stage 1 civilization.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemmy.zip 36 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

... one of these days these crazy fuckers are gonna invent democracy by mistake.

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 23 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

you see, when the people are happy and their needs are met, they produce more high quality stuff. I would like more high quality stuff…

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ah, but that is known, and deemed completely irrelevant by the overlords as it does not concentrate wealth, it does not keep folk in check, & it's has little relevance to what is/how much monetisable. It's not the quality, it's the price.

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 34 points 2 weeks ago

It won't happen because my-hero has a short attention span. He's only capable of impulse decisions that have immediate consequences like buying twitter

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 33 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

Wake me up when he makes a party for MEN ONLY.

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 23 points 2 weeks ago

the fellas party and it's only for the guys

[–] StalinIsMaiWaifu@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 2 weeks ago

I don't think I want musk at my next gay orgy though

[–] dumpster_dove@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

Trump ran America like a business, Musk will run it like a college fraternity!

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 30 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

A party with all Musk-backed candidates supporting all of Musk's companies' favorite issues? Wow, thanks rich guy.

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

He won't even tap into the synergy he ~~built~~ bought.

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

At least Ross Perot had cool ears.

[–] HakFoo@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Y'know, I wonder if Perot overestimated his audience. 30-minute infomercials with oie charts to explain nuanced policy, when the Republic was effectively torpedoed with a four-word slogan.

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I was really convinced by the charts when I was 4 years old.

[–] MoonMelon@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 weeks ago

I liked his little telescopic pointer.

[–] miz@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

the Republic was effectively torpedoed with a four-word slogan

oh god, not another one of these ignorant liberals that think America suddenly became bad when Trump won

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

I think there have been three of them on Hexbear alone in the last couple of weeks.

[–] HakFoo@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 2 weeks ago

Nobody is claiming it's wasn't an ongoing racist destruction cult. We can give Trump credit for normalizing the mask drop and turbocharging the delegitimization process.

A Mitt Romney-era Republican would at least be businessbrained enough to say "I want death camps behind closed doors, but the overall economic trends suggest they'll be bad for my long-term stock holdings."

There’s been several attempts at these wish-washy “sensible alternatives to the dual party partisan bickering and pork barrel spending” third parties, and, besides the brief Reform Party era, they always end up with like 0.25 percent of the vote.

[–] Hotspur@lemmy.ml 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Wait so is he an elite, a counter-elite, or a counter-cointer-elite now?

[–] SnakeEyes@hexbear.net 14 points 2 weeks ago

Bean counter elite

[–] sisatici@hexbear.net 13 points 2 weeks ago

Gee man if only you had means to fund another party.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Who would vote for musk? I thought conservatives hated him because he said mean things about trump. Most everyone else hates him for a variety of reasons (is a billionaire, is a nazi, whatever the fuck doge was). Does he still have fans? That vote? In the US?

[–] Philosoraptor@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Hyper-capitalist accelerationist tech bros still love him.

[–] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

So a voter base of maybe 50k people?

[–] Philosoraptor@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

Disproportionate number of billionaires in there though. They're the ones shaping policy, not voters.

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

So many stupid young men love him. Do not underestimate his popularity. The manosphere thinks he's amazing

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

His party needs to have the KEK acronym somehow

[–] john_brown@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ku Elon Klan

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 7 points 2 weeks ago

Shut up Yang!

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 7 points 2 weeks ago

[–] Meltyheartlove@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

This time, someone will finally find the mythical center.
