He died how he lived, defending third world supply chains for the profit of the western oligarchs that consider poories like him subhuman livestock.

Thanks for defending your owner's ego score quarterly growth/metastasis expectations with your insignificant little sucker peasant life, Billy! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’°πŸ€‘

β€œYou’re goddamn right.”

[–] DarkMFG@lemmy.world 44 points 1 year ago (1 children)

implying that your son doesn't already do that in the military without you knowing it

[–] RGB3x3@lemmy.world 37 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If they're in the Air Force, they likely do.

Source: in the Air Force.

[–] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Same for Marine Corps, except remove the word "likely."

[–] Norgur@kbin.social 32 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Well, patriotism can be necessary to deal with the constant fear to loose your child.

[–] Norgur@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Nah, that's just fucked up

[–] orphiebaby@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't understand this statement. Can you rephrase and/or edit? ^^

[–] Norgur@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm struggling with the question what exactly is hard to understand. Soldier's parents live in the constant fear that their child might one day just be killed in some conflict a d in order to cope, they use their patriotism

[–] orphiebaby@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Gotcha, I understand now. Thanks

[–] hahattpro@lemmy.world 29 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I would rather die for greedy capitalism nation rather than live against the social norm.

[–] Hyggyldy@lemmy.world 29 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Too many people have taken your comment seriously. I felt the sarcasm was decently clear but I guess not.

hmm I didn't realize that it was sarcastic. Good that I saw this comment.

[–] toomanyjoints69@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

[–] GatoB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

[–] HiddenLayer5@lemmy.ml 25 points 1 year ago

"My son has never killed a family in a foreign country because someone told them to."

[–] BilboBargains@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Your son, my son, arson.

[–] Shardikprime@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

Wow what a privilege for you to only have the option of not being a man or perish in battle. There is no middle point

[–] dfc09@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Yeah that soldier's boots aren't bloused!

[–] MargotRobbie@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Your son. My son.

Hi son. Bison.

[–] n3cr0@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago
[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Well, my "son" is a girl both biologically and in terms of gender, so I guess that's correct?
