Wild one but hear me out, we deport all the Republicans to Israel.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

We can do that? lets do it!

[-] airportline@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 year ago

No because they would settle the West Bank and further the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

Gotta communicate to their base that it's really ok to stab 6 year olds dozens of times if they are of Palestinian heritage.

Gotta communicate to their base that it's really ok to stab 6 year olds dozens of times if they look like they are of Palestinian heritage.

FTFY

As if they care if you can tell the difference.

True that.

A 6 year old. I just can't wrap my head around it. The landlord played with the kid. Built him a fucking treehouse.

Oh and he pleaded not guilty. Not. Guilty. He actually looked his lawyer in the eye and said that.

This is the problem with Democratic voters turning on Biden over Gaza. The Republican stance is that all Palestinians are Hamas, and they should be either killed or exiled. "Not calling for a ceasefire quickly enough" isn't a thing on the right, and it never will be.

[-] Zippit@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Also, biden's biggest problems right now are that more black and Latino voters are moving to the republican side. The polling today was really worrying.

The only thing those voters ask from Biden is to represent them too in this conflict. He doesn't, so putting the blame on them if he loses the elections, is not fair.

Also he made it clear he doesn't care about their voices, so all he has to do is replace those votes with Jewish voters I guess? Muslims and Jews make up 1% each of the entire US population (census 2020), so it'll straighten itself out.

[-] homura1650@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

US Jews aren't that closely alligned to Israel; particularly if you are talking about the current Israeli leadership (which a significant portion of Israelis also aren't alligned with). Further, the preferences of US Jews is pretty corralated to their political party; where Jewish Republicans are far more pro Israel than Jewish democrats.

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2021/05/21/u-s-jews-have-widely-differing-views-on-israel/

The above survey is old, but I don't think the story has fundamentally changed.

Across all US Jews (as of the time the survey was conducted)

40% rate Netenyahus leadership as good or excellent (25% of Democratic Jews, 80% of Republican Jews)

34% Strongly oppose the BDS (anti Israel Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) movement. (28% Democratic Jews, 54% Republican Jews)

33% Thought that Israel was making a sincere effort to peace. (20% Democratic Jews, 66% Republican Jews)

32% Thought that God gave Israel to the Jews. (22% Democratic Jews, 60% Republican Jews).

When people talk about the "Jewish" position for Israel in thr context of US politics, they are really talking about the Republican position.

Inb4 all the progressive voters who think long term enough to say "I'm not voting for Biden in 24"! 😂😂

[-] Gimpydude@lemmynsfw.com 8 points 1 year ago

I'll vote for Biden in '24 but why the fuck can't we have real, viable candidates anymore?

That is the implication of the chosen language. It was intended to mock those individuals predictable responses.

[-] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 29 points 1 year ago

That is pretty low even for the Christian "moral" majority

"moral" majority

They are neither.

Today's republican party: Always looking for new lows to sink to.

[-] profdc9@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

The republicans are not really governing: they are pandering. There's no way such a measure could become law with the Democratic majority in the Senate. Even if such a measure became law, the Supreme Court would have to completely redefine due process for this to remain law, however, the Supreme Court did decide in favor of internment camps for Japanese American citizens, so I supposed this can not be ruled out.

Ryan Zinke is a close minded, selfish asshole.

I'm ashamed he represents Montana in Congress.
