The second one sounds like the 
bit from the chapter Communism in Wonderland from Blackshirts and Reds. I think it was GDR not Czechoslovakia though.
If I recall correctly that chapter is based on his "Reflections on the Overthrow of Communism" speech you can find it there too
I'm not sure if this is exactly it, but the "Wanting It All" subsection from the Communism in Wonderland chapter provides the same kind of rhetorical ammo.
