I imagine it would be a bit time-consuming to completely saturate giant boba with water. The small ones take 40-140 mins to get just right, and I doubt many would make an exaggeratedly huge batch like the pic in order to have many spares to test for cronch.

I get milk tea without tapioca often when I go to bubble tea shops. Sometimes I opt for Taro instead.
