Wtf, happened to CoD? Such a hello kitty show.

[-] SlacksMcTavish@lemmy.ml 20 points 11 months ago

Things went out the window for me when Niki Minaj killed Messi with a neon green sub-machinegun. You'd think that would be a great game, but it's a bit too much for my likings.

I never really agreed when people said that they want their super realistic call of duty, but this really is just absurd. Even if these skins were free is would be obnoxious. At this point you can only blame the poeple who buy that garbage

[-] Schmuppes@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

I haven't played any CoD games since maybe 2010 and thought you were being silly. Holy fucking shit.

[-] Sylvartas@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

They usually get it right when they do "tacticool" stuff too. But this shit feels like they're trying way too hard to appeal to the Fortnite crowd

[-] Rubanski@lemm.ee 4 points 11 months ago

Lol I thought you were joking. There's actually a Niki Minaj skin in the game, holy fuck haha

[-] Zahille7@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

And you're not talking about Fortnite, correct?

[-] verysoft@kbin.social 4 points 11 months ago

People love it and spend $20+ on these skins over and over again.

This site has the most infuriating privacy popup I have ever seen, theres a tab for 1400 partner consents. Like what?

[-] neutron@thelemmy.club 17 points 11 months ago

Malicious compliance mixed with "let's see you click all that shit". I don't think the devs wanted to implement this...

[-] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 11 months ago

Duck duck go web browser can set all that to necessary only for every website and you don't have the pop up

[-] alansuspect@aussie.zone 1 points 11 months ago
[-] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 11 months ago

I downloaded it on my phone jumped through their explanation stuff and it came up as a prompt option

[-] Mkengine@feddit.de 2 points 11 months ago

Have you tried Consentomatic? It usually takes care of those and deactivates them automatically.

[-] DrRatso@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

I actually opened it in safari just to see, but it did not seem like it managed to, at least on iOS.

[-] Mkengine@feddit.de 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I don't know how many people are behind this, but I think they implement the consent frameworks manually, so if it doesn't work you can report the website in the extension and help other people in the future with your contribution!

[-] jmcs@discuss.tchncs.de 22 points 11 months ago

Don't worry they will release a $70 upgrade that tones it down soon.

[-] xubu@infosec.pub 13 points 11 months ago

Probably a 200 GB download too.

[-] fluckx@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

You mean the season pass? Great! Everybody knows games suck if you can't pay 70$ for seasonal cosmetics every 3 months

[-] Zellith@kbin.social 20 points 11 months ago

What a joke of a franchise.

[-] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 17 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Now that's some pay to lose shit if I've ever seen it.

[-] showmustgo@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago

How it should be ofc

Pay to flex on em

[-] Magrath@lemmy.ca 11 points 11 months ago

Haha. Those who bought that deserve it. They've been enabling that shit by buying everything they release. They are two steps away from being sold dog shit and buying it.

[-] Jax@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

A gun literally caked in dogshit. Flies buzzing around it, your character cringes as they reload it.

[-] Fizz@lemmy.nz 11 points 11 months ago

Jesus, and I thought gold camo in black ops 1 was obnoxious.

[-] Binthinkin@kbin.social 10 points 11 months ago

Watching Activision burn is great. What a shit company with shit ideas. No wonder another dumpster company like Microsoft wanted it. Shit sticks together.

[-] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 9 points 11 months ago

Looks like a skin from Cruelty Squad. john-cruelty

[-] Metal_Zealot@lemmy.ml 8 points 11 months ago

Why does every game have to have neon, cute, annoying bullshit cosmetics now. It's a fucking war game. Even PUBG caved in and became an obnoxious dress-up game. Yea, really helps set the tone of abandoned, grim wasteland.

[-] Palacegalleryratio@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago

Conversely I’ll just roast all CoD players, for continuing to play and spend money on a franchise with all the genuine creative vision of a photocopier and all the predatory financial behaviour of an online gambling website.

[-] Sivick314@universeodon.com 1 points 11 months ago

@Fallstar 60 buck skin? What the actual hell? Have some self respect. Play something else

[-] Fallstar@mander.xyz 1 points 11 months ago

Yeah, it is wild.

But people are free to spend money on whatever they like.

I waste plenty of money of Nerf blasters LOL.

[-] Zahille7@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

It really does look like a texture glitch.

That fucking sucks if it's intentional.
