I primed Chat by asking it to make me a deck built around Lyzolda, the Blood Witch with a focus on token generation and sacrificing creatures.

"Certainly! Here's a basic decklist for a Lyzolda, the Blood Witch commander deck that focuses on generating tokens and sacrificing them for various effects:

Commander:

  • Lyzolda, the Blood Witch

Creatures:

  1. Blood Artist
  2. Goblin Instigator
  3. Krenko, Mob Boss
  4. Siege-Gang Commander
  5. Ogre Battledriver
  6. Doomed Traveler
  7. Sengir Autocrat
  8. Myr Battlesphere
  9. Hanweir Garrison
  10. Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder

Token Generators:

  1. Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin
  2. Hordeling Outburst
  3. Dragon Fodder
  4. Krenko, Mob Boss
  5. Goblin Rabblemaster
  6. Raise the Alarm
  7. Mogg War Marshal
  8. Goblin Instigator

Sacrifice Outlets:

  1. Ashnod's Altar
  2. Phyrexian Altar
  3. Goblin Bombardment
  4. Viscera Seer
  5. Yahenni, Undying Partisan
  6. Carrion Feeder

Card Draw:

  1. Skullclamp
  2. Dark Prophecy
  3. Midnight Reaper

Removal:

  1. Shriekmaw
  2. Terminate
  3. Chaos Warp
  4. Bedevil

Utility:

  1. Smothering Abomination
  2. Anointed Procession (doubles token generation)
  3. Impact Tremors
  4. Purphoros, God of the Forge

Ramp:

  1. Sol Ring
  2. Rakdos Signet
  3. Talisman of Indulgence

Land Base:

  1. Command Tower
  2. Blood Crypt
  3. Dragonskull Summit
  4. Rakdos Guildgate
  5. Sulfurous Springs
  6. Smoldering Marsh
  7. Bloodstained Mire
  8. Polluted Delta
  9. Terramorphic Expanse
  10. Evolving Wilds

Remember to adjust the decklist based on your preferences, available cards, and playgroup dynamics. Have fun building and playing your Lyzolda deck!"

Some notes:

  1. This is not a legal commander deck. It has too few cards, and some cards do not fit Lyzolda's color identify.

  2. The synergies a mixed bag. Some cards fit perfectly into the theme, like Endrek and Krenko, or Ashnod's and Phyrexian altars. Other's don't work as well, since Myr Battlesphere creates colorless tokens that don't jive with Lysolda's ability.

  3. I want to play a match with ChatGPT generated decks to see how silly it gets.

Anyone else try this? Have your results been better (or worse)?

This sounds like it could be a fun, casual format. It would be full of illegal decks with varying synergy, but you have to play them anyway lol.

@Shyfer @TerrificTadpole I suggest you are allowed to add basic lands to make the deck functional (doesn't have to be 100 cards, aim for the best ratio of lands)

I remember MTGGoldfish did this a few episodes back too and iirc they had to ask ChatGPT 3 or 4 times and it still never made a legal list.

I would never use AI to make a deck when EDHRec exists - you're better off just using the Average Deck function, though that is just gonna lead you to playing staples too.
