Title case sucks. I don’t know why we use it.

When names are not familiar to you it takes a few goes to realise that her name is Ju Ae, not Ju Ae May or Ju Ae May Be.

It's Ju Ae May Be His Heir, it says so right there.

No her name is Kim, duh

SMH my head these guys don't even know how names work

[–] Caaaaarrrrlll@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

SMH my head

Shake my head my head

Indeed. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go to the ATM machine, and use my personal PIN number to draw some money out.

I’ve occasionally seen title case with proper nouns in all caps, like: “KIM JONG UN’s Daughter KIM JU AE May Be His Heir, SOUTH KOREA Suspects”.

Hashtag totalitarian, hashtag feminism, hashtag juche, hashtag slaygirrrrl.

Also, apparently nothing screams "dictatorship of the proletariat" like a hereditary monarchy. Nothing screams "class struggle" like the Mount Paektu bloodline. Marx and Engels are surely vindicated.

Man that image looks like the Uns are about to drop the album of the year.

Oh man I can't believe I fucked that up that bad! Oh well, I still got some laughs, and you got to correct an internet stranger, so I see this as a win, win, win.

They just got Gangnam Style up there, and they're about to wow us.

[–] ThrowawayPermanente@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Sadly, they will never set foot in the real Gangnam

Why does everyone want the Kim family in Gangnam?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 1 points 10 months ago

Because the GUVMENT is keeping their sick beats from us.

[–] curiousaur@reddthat.com 5 points 10 months ago

Why do they try their hardest to look like they're trying to look western?

[–] Lophostemon@aussie.zone 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What’s wrong with just ‘general’?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

It could be a gendered noun in Korean, but yeah, I thought they had women in the officer corps already so it shouldn't seem that strange.

[–] Lophostemon@aussie.zone 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I just looked it up and apparently Korean does not have a gendered grammar.

But yeah… it’s probably just a subtle way of pointing out that she is who she is.

I wonder if she has the hobby of executing her relatives with anti-aircraft guns, like her dad?

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Be really cool if they just drone the whole Kim family.
