If I try to respond to this comment, I get the language not allowed error:

I checked my lemmy.world account settings through my web browser, and see that my language is set to Undetermined, which I thought was the fix for this.

Iirc set to undetermined was actually the cause for this kind of behavior. I.e. you have to at least choose 1 language, for it to work correctly.

So I checked again, and I had both Undetermined and English checked. I didn't know I could have more than one. I unchecked Undetermined (left English checked) and it worked!

I had same error when I tried to reply to kbin post from lemmy, seems like some compatibility issue?
