Texas AG is a garbage human being. I hope PFLAG tells him to get fucked.

They are, well legally speaking at least, and Lambda Legal and the ACLU are defending them.
Right now someone at pflag should be looking for those contact lists they unfortunately lost every copy of right before they were asked.
"dont tread on me"
uh huh. what a terrible human being.
Trans people and immigrants will be the first targeted groups when It Happens™.
Recent events have led Paxton to believe that It Happening has broad bipartisan support.
I definitely get the impression people on both sides feel this whole "slavery is bad" thing wasn't properly addressed last go-round, among other things.
There were certainly a number of officials who were allowed to see a lot more birthdays than they should have.
They also seem to be really concerned about all the women who are suffraging, and are doing their best to rescue them from such unspeakable and unladylike depravity - whether they like it or not.
I remember in high school I got a majority of students in my class to sign petitions to end women's suffrage and ban dihydrogen monoxide. I have not found conditions in the "real world" substantially different.
I'm still chuckling over the way I learned about suffragettes. By playing red dead redemption 2. I earned brownie points on more than one occasion. Video games are not all bad, hear me out!
oh so theres not even an attempt to hide behind some "protect the children" bullshit this time? just a clear and direct "fuck you" to lgbtq people? what a state...
No. No no no no no no no. Texas AG can go get fucked.
Per the lawsuit, PFLAG National states that it would be required to disclose Texas trans youth members, including “complete names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, jobs, home addresses, telephone numbers, [and] email addresses.” It also states they would need to hand over documents and communications related to their medical care, hospitals outside the state, and “contingency plans” discussed among members for navigating the new laws on gender-affirming care in Texas.
What the actual fuck? Trying to get enough information to ruin them for the rest of their lives. This isn't only reprehensible from the targeting of LGBT people, it is the worst proposed privacy nightmare I've heard of any US based government proposing. I... I need to go throw up.
You know... Land of the free and such. So much freedom you'll get persecuted for who you are and whom you love. Can't have that.
Where have I seen that before? Was it that one Germanic country in Europe? I've forgotten the name, but it ended with "any" and had a dude with a strange mustache as a leader.
And no I don't think it's an exaggeration. The Nazis didn't start murdering, they sneaked up on the country, started making lists, started spreading lies and fear, started a "them versus us" litany. Sounds familiar? Yeah, for me as well.
Absolute trash. This is fucking terrifying.
That's what I call SMALL Government!
Hahaha right? Have you seen the property tax rate in Texas? Real liberty lol /s
Ken Paxton can sit on a cactus and have fire ants bite his needle dick.
Too lenient.
He can get fucked by a Saguaro, and the fire ants can, uh… do their thing?
Ain't no saguaros in Texas.
Well, we can import one. I know there at least were a few at the UoM horticultural greenhosues on our state fair grounds. I'm sure we could figure something out.
They're assembling kill lists
Bingo!
Maybe they shouldn't be the only ones... Just in case
This is utterly fucking horrifying.
This needs federal intervention, this is spiraling into nazism in practice.
I hope he stubs the same toe every day for eternity and gets severe tinnitus.
Is it normal, as a Texan evac, to be afraid of joining PFLAG in another state? I used to feel that was just one of my psychosis symptoms, unwillingness to join a formal rainbow group and actually socialize, but now I'm increasingly unsure
they're just cliques fam, find the good people already in your circle and hold them close. rubbing elbows and trying to fit in with various "queer" groups and orgs as a baby tran was awful for my mental health, you just become a stepping stone for some more privileged person's clout-building.
Time for a fatal data failure, including backups.
You know… it used to be the case that when using an acronym in an article, it was always explained after the first usage in the text. Journalistic editorial standards have really slipped.
It's not an acronym anymore. It used to stand for Parents and Families of Lesbians and Gays but they have expanded their charter to include all their members. Since it's not an acronym, and hasn't been for about a decade, I assume they decided to to bother to explain what it used to stand for since it's not relevant to the article.
In 2014, the organization officially changed its name from “Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays” to, simply, PFLAG. This change was made to accurately reflect PFLAG members, those PFLAG serves, and the inclusive work PFLAG has been doing for decades.
Righto. Thanks for the info. I guess international readers aren’t figured into their editorial expectations. It is what it is.
Thanks again.
I assume you're talking about not defining PFLAG? Acronyms widely understood by the target audience aren't always defined. The LA Blade is an LGBTQ publication so PFLAG not being defined makes sense.
Oh well. I guess I’ll never know.
Ever try typing an acronym into a search engine?
Can’t be bothered. I clicked on article. Poor editorial standards. Ok I’m out.
Why hasn't the Pope condemned this in Latin and English?
Well let's see...
There was John Doe #1. Jane Doe #1. John Doe #2 and #3... Jane Doe #6384 ...
