Automatism in the age of the children of Unix.

It's a box of antique photographs. A blade, a girl and a fish. Whatever it means, you're invested.

For one beautiful moment in time we had unfettered access to the life of every single person on earth.

Oh my god, ferret, you can't just ask people why they're a bot!

[–] jodanlime@midwest.social 11 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, that's like asking why ferret is a ferret

Have you ever played a Troika! based p&p rpg? I kinda get similar vibes from these comics. Absolutely love them, by the way.

[–] pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Not really. I do remember the vampires masquerade game, and I did play the original fallout. I think that's the same developer. But I'm not really familiar with video games. I think it's mostly my own bleak perception of the world, where the vibe comes from.

I'm glad to hear you say you enjoy it, it helps me going.

Troika! is actually a p&p/tabletop system, so a game played in person, between friends, and the source books have a lot of weird, kinda surrealist art, with the adventures in them usually having a similar vibe.

I get the bleakness thing, I find myself getting disillusioned with the world all too often. But art like this helps, so I am happy that you are happy that we are happy with it. Or something like that.

Troika is a fantastic set of work

It has a cpu managing engine? Then yes it is.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Does AMD have something like that?

[–] mariusafa@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 8 months ago

Yes with other names. The intel one can be disabled with libreboot (well coreboot). The AMD one i don't know.

when we have like genuine artificial superintelligences, all these backdoors are so gonna bite us in the ass. we'll have to throw out all devices and experience economic ruin, just because the security state wanted to peak at everyone's private lives for some occult reason.
