Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

His cult does not care. They feel they are the only rightful inheritors of the USA. They want to punish everyone who has ever even slightly inconvenienced them or their sensibilities. They are angry at all the poor life choices they made and need someone to offload that guilt. Almost every GOP slob I have met is so angry about things that only have the thinnest of understanding. Usually, just repeating things that some guy on TV has screamed at them for weeks and weeks. They don't even recognize the other 2/3rds of citizens as real Americans. It's a sickness that will not end well.

Don't forget a lot of them seriously believe Trump was "sent by God". It's scary AF

I remember when Obama was the antichrist and my father was waxing about the end of all things. Meanwhile this orange fuck holds a bible upside down and embodies nearly every "sin" you can think of and not a fuckin peep

I don’t fully understand Christianity, but isn’t the Antichrist supposed to herald the coming of the devil??

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 3 points 7 months ago

That would require them to read their holy book.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 7 points 7 months ago

Trump has supporters who think he is the Antichrist and want him in power because their book of lies says that that happens before the rapture. Even if their mythology was based on reality, I don't get how they don't expect some beaurocrat at heaven admissions to be like, "Hold up, it says here that you supported the Antichrist and wanted the rapture to happen partially because you thought it would punish those that opposed it? That that was your specific idea of paradise?"

So we need to gas them, is what you're saying.

No, the answer is beyond my ability. How do you heal brain washed mass hysteria?

Last time we did it, we used M1 Garands, Sherman tanks, B-17s and a whole lot of dead Russians.

Great job using a Twitter thread for your campaign message. Twitter doesn't show replies to people who aren't logged in, so most people can't read their takedown if linked to the thread start.

MAGA types will never see this.

[–] Dantpool@kbin.melroy.org 24 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Stuff like this isn't meant for them, because they won't abandon their cheeto dust messiah. Posts and articles like this are for those who, somehow, are still on the fence about him.

And, to some extent, to discourage voting. There are quite a few people who won't ever vote Biden, but can be convinced Trump isn't worth voting for.

[–] TurtleJoe@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

I think about it the other way: there are lots of people that are uninformed and apathetic, they didn't like trump, but think there isn't a big overall difference between the two old guys. Those are the people that need to understand how bad Trump is, and how good (in a relative sense) Biden is as the alternative.

Too bad Twitter is useless now and the media landscape is shattered

[–] Kbobabob@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago

I'm sure his base is screaming RINO and ignoring it if they can even read it.
