What's the difference between block user/community and filter user/community? Why do we need filtering feature if we can block?

Blocking is done my lemmy server.

Filter is done by Sync for lemmy client. Filter is currently more flexibility.

Filtering is more flexible in some cases, but why should I filter a community instead of blocking it?

One a per Community bases I would block. End result is similar. Server vs sync client(profile).

I would really love it if the filtered list at least has the option to be added to the blocked list. Or preferably, have the option to have block in the 3 dot menu

By blocking, the thing doesnt show up on sync nor desktop, which is nice. Filtering only filters thru sync

I'd much prefer blocking to be default. I use multiple clients, so filtering isn't a good option.
