Following recommendations from the comments I implemented material you with dynamic colors and pushed content to the beginning and I really liked the result

The idea is to keep accounts synced using an background service btw

I'll keep improving it and I aim to release a build for those who want to test, it's FOSS

Flutter eh? Does that mean you’re using Ubuntu to develop this? If so, far out man 👍

[-] naticus@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Great idea, I plan to give it a try soon! One suggestion though is you need to figure out a better name since Sync for Lemmy is a well known app already and this will just confuse people.

[-] gusVLZ@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

Thanks for the suggestion, any name ideas?

[-] Rouxibeau@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Lemmy get it together.
Lemmy fix that.
Lemmy syncronize.
Lemmy help.
Lemmy shake hands.
Handshake for Lemmy.

[-] gusVLZ@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 year ago

Really liked the Lemmy synchronize and handshake ones, might consider changing the name before release

[-] hadek@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Lemmy handshake is catchy, i'd give it a vote.

Eager to try it out.

[-] Rouxibeau@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Lemmy know if you do ✌

[-] Psythik@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Good cause those two are my favorites as well. :D

[-] allyougottadois@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 year ago

Technically Twitter has recently become available lol.

[-] XxNotOriginalxX@reddthat.com 7 points 1 year ago

Slice, since a group of lemmings is called a slice for some reason lmao

[-] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I like it. Good connection and that app is offering "slices" of info to the data.

Sync for Lemmy..

[-] naticus@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

What about something like Lemmy FediSync? Or FediMigrate?

[-] gusVLZ@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago

I've changed it to Lemmy Handshake

[-] CrayonRosary@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

[-] IRQBreaker@lemmy.kozow.com 3 points 1 year ago

Let me sync... LetMeSync... LemmeSync... LemmySync...

[-] PurpleTentacle@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 year ago

It syncs Lemmy instances, so, naturally:

Sync for Lemmy

Nice work!

Unfortunately it seems a lot of users need apps like this now, since the Lemmy network is heavily fragmented already.

That's both a plus and a minus of the technology.

Would be nice with some visual map that shows which instance talks to which other instance, blocked communities, and so on.

For example, beehaw doesn't federate with Lemmy.world. How will the users know this if they are new?

[-] Mubelotix@jlai.lu 8 points 1 year ago

The lemmy.world mfs also defederated from piracy communities

[-] MataVatnik@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I just joined Lemmy, is there somewhere I can read how it all works? Seems exciting, I've been saying we need a decentralized social media for more than a decade now.

Great idea but for now I'll just log to the user what couldn't be synced, implementing something like this would be hard for now, maybe a future improvement

[-] 1984@lemmy.today 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah it's a big project for sure.

[-] dbx12@programming.dev 8 points 1 year ago

Why would I want to sync accounts across instances? Isn't my content automatically federated?

[-] gusVLZ@sh.itjust.works 53 points 1 year ago

The ideia isn't to sync the posts and comments, it's to sync subscribed communities, banned users/communities and saved content

Things that aren't federated

[-] yoz@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago

Its really useful. Thank you

[-] SeatBeeSate@lemmy.one 1 points 1 year ago

Finally a way to keep my list of stupid celeb simping communities from clogging my feed. No idea why I get posts from lemmynsfw anyways.

It's not available yet, but you can follow the project here Lemmy Handshake

... sincronize is to synchronize what satanize is to sanitize ...

[-] yoz@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Read between the lines. He's building an app and you here correcting words. God bless you!

[-] gusVLZ@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 year ago

Actually I'm not a native speaker and really like when people correct my mistakes, but thanks for defending me

[-] yoz@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

Always there for you bro. You're doing great, love your app, please keep building it. Thank you so much.

[-] deur@feddit.nl 0 points 1 year ago

Its horrifically funny that youve just insinuated that the commentor lacks context on app development while their account is on a clearly dev oriented instance. Also tf is your problem with the self righteous comment, OP can likely speak for themselves.

[-] yoz@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

God bless you too. I know life can be unfair for you guys but it is what it is. Just deal with it bruv.

[-] Vlixz@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Looking good! I really like the new design

[-] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Looking forward to it

[-] Anti_Weeb_Penguin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Looks amazing, i really can't wait to try this!

[-] finickydesert@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

Seems interesting, following it on GitHub

[-] FlembleFabber@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

Sounds great

[-] kratoz29@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I can’t wait this app to come!

[-] trashographer@discuss.online 3 points 1 year ago

Nice. I was thinking of own instance

[-] gusVLZ@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago
