My guess is that her plan is to either become the Republican nominee of Trump goes to jail, or (more likely) set herself up for a 2028 campaign. Endorsing Biden would end her prospects for the latter, so it's not going to happen.

The GOP is the party of Trump now. Haley came out swinging at Trump in the primaries. Her career as a GOP politician is over. They’ll run Don Jr. in 2028 before they run Haley.

Doubt it. Trump is hanging on by a fingernail. The entire GOP infrastructure is teetering on the edge with it.

They get slammed every election recently, Roe v Wade is against them and their strongest part is nobody wants Joe Biden. GOP is on life support brother.

Demographics say that the GOP won't even be a national party by 2028.

That is why they are all in on #fascism.

[–] deft@lemmy.wtf 3 points 6 months ago

I've said it since they threw Palin beside McCain. They don't have an end goal, they were circling the drain then

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

The GOP is the party of Trump insomuch as it gets them votes from the unwashed masses. If Trump goes to jail and public opinion somehow starts to sour, they'd endorse someone else like Haley instead.

More likely, though, is that MAGA voters continue to support any politician who turns Trump's persecution complex into their campaign goals. Maybe they win the presidency and the fascism train kicks on under some Trump sycophant, or maybe the continued extremism and fragmentation of the Republican party costs them more and more elections until the movement eventually just fizzles out.

I think you’ve nailed it. She’s only out of the race, for now.

lol of course she fucking wont.

Any time you see the question "Will [republican] do the right thing and..." the answer is almost always no. No, the republicans will not do the right thing, and we have decades of evidence of that. You may get the occasional right thing (like McCain and the healthcare vote, or Cheney and the J6 committee), but by and large my money is on them doing the wrong thing.

[–] Wiz@midwest.social 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I think you mean Liz Cheney in the J6 committee, but your excellent point stands.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

I did, thanks for the correction!

[–] millifoo@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

Hahahhahahahhahah. Good one.

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 months ago

She will endorse Trump.

Sure saw what kind of money SCOTUS is getting, she wants some of that sugar too.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

If the headline is a question, the answer is always "no"

[–] DxK@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 6 months ago

Lol of course she won't. That would require far more integrity and courage than anyone left in the GOP possesses.

[–] Moops@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

Pfft...Haley has the spine of a pool noodle. Of course no.

[–] Haus@kbin.social 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I read Nikki Haley as Kristi Noem, and frowned at this headline in confusion.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

I wouldn’t be overly surprised to find Haley is a puppy killer too.

Or any other republican.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago

Remember that episode of South Park where the KKK endorses one side and no one on that side likes it? It's like that. If she endorses Biden, that's a sign a troubled times.

[–] HelixDab2@lemm.ee 1 points 6 months ago

tl;dr - No.
