Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The site is a great place to meet criminals, rapists and perverts.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 25 points 5 months ago

There are also other people on there if you don't just want to meet Trump.

... Granted, most of them want to emulate him.

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 13 points 5 months ago (1 children)

"and some of them might be good people"

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

"Might" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, bud.

[–] FunderPants@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 months ago

And at least one juror from Trumps NY criminal trial.

[–] NeptuneOrbit@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago (1 children)

A hive of scum and villain, even?

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

I honest to god think that’s an insult to Mos Eisley spaceport

Almost like they have attracted everyone they will with their ideas. And the only place they have to go now is down, or more bots.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 15 points 5 months ago

And Russians. Probably people from the Israeli, Saudi and Hungarian far right too.

Since they tout it as some sort of "free speech" haven, I'm curious if communists made accounts and started sharing our thoughts if our "free speech" would still be welcome? 🫢

They would love that! The biggest gripe they have is there is no one to argue with or troll. Makes for pretty boring discussion if everyone thinks the same.

[–] ganksy@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago

Discussion isn't really something they partake in

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago

Well, they are competing with Xitter and Facebook for the “paranoid delusional right wing moron” demographic.

Pravda Social should market their bullshit in Russia and China, they have plenty of supporters in both shitholes.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 9 points 5 months ago (1 children)

What business is there to lose?

They made $700k.

[–] angstylittlecatboy@reddthat.com 5 points 5 months ago (3 children)

Are they growing somewhere else?

Ah, Russia! The free-est of countries! Free like the wind coming out of an open window.

I know you're kidding, but when I travel to the BVIs, Antigua, the Caribbean in general, they all hold Trump in very high esteem, they're surprised I don't actually.

People in developing countries (am I allowed to say that anymore?) see him as a rogue outsider that beat the political elite at their own game by being himself.

They don't see that he was a tool for another set of corrupt politicians to get two justices and maybe two more, they just see a hero.

Edit: Why the fuck are you down voting? This is my experience in other countries. They look up to the piss baby man child. These are candid conversations with real people y'all. I know he's a billionaire piece of shit, but that's not the messaging getting out to the rest of the world.

[–] Bananigans@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 5 months ago

I spent about a decade working with refugees and had the same experience with Pakistani people. It felt like I was in bizarro world. They're waiting 10+ years to get to the US, and during that time Trump basically tries to ban refugee entries altogether, and they're still like, nope Trump's a great guy. I don't understand the world I guess.

[–] Haus@kbin.social 2 points 5 months ago

Nah, they just can't spell truth.

[–] bquintb@midwest.social 3 points 5 months ago

That place is like 90% bots. It's bots trolling bots.

[–] InternetUser2012@midwest.social 2 points 5 months ago

They even gave up on making more bots. It's that shit of a platform.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

Wow. I always thought the share price was rigged!
