My sister and I came up with a new one the other day when a group of elderly women were just standing in the driveway of our apartment blocking the exit for cars.

A grundle of grannies.

I feel like this would also apply to the ones that have lengthy conversations in the supermarket aisles

Oh so that's where gaggle comes from as a demonym.

The only place I'd seen it used so far was about a group of kids from Whoville in a Tony the tiger X Grinch fanfic (very good fic BTW, highly recommend). Now that makes more sense.
