And May Day in U.S. was supplanted by Law Day ("to celebrate the rule of law") but it didn't take off because it wasn't a public holiday.

Ya can't make this up any better.

As a US-ian I can tell you this propaganda works. I grew up not knowing shit about May Day (that's like flowers in a basket, right?) or Labor Day and I routinely confused Labor Day and Veterans Day. This coming from a solidly LIB-slash-Non-Political household of teacher parents.

wait, i can't actually believe this. May 1 was specifically adopted for the Haymarket affair? and every country except the US has it as labor day? the USSR commemorated yankee labor martyrs more than the yankees

And the US straight-up replaced it with Bootlicker Day, and it's not even a national holiday. This country is so cool

my brainwormed parents told me that May Day was some sexually deviant holiday ?? No idea where that came from

May Day is when everyone dances around a maypole and then does butt stuff

I legit only found out about this Unitedstadian quirk when a homeless man was murdered on the subway on May Day in New York [1], and my first thought while watching the footage was "why are there so many people on the subway on May Day?"

Now look at this map:

Jesus, always the same map.

I’m thinking of those turning points of “when I became a leftist/communist/jokerfied” and like if you fully absorb this, how can you stay a lib. And there’s thousands more examples. Definitely the most propagandized people on the planet.

Same, I intend to celebrate this year's Anticommunism Day by spreading communism

I actually got fired this year on the actual Labor Day

I’m sorry, all I hear is that America gave the world two Labor Days. You’re welcome.
