With the elections nearing and the Biden-Harris administration still being complicit in Genocide there is but one way for crocodile tear liberals to fix the issue: Start banning anyone who comments about the Biden administration being complicit in Genocide.

/Politics mod JordanLund who also mods /WorldNews decides Biden has nothing to do with the Genocide in Gaza

JordanLund banned users in the past for questioning israel's right to exist. JordanLund now takes it one step further and is now spreading misinformation about israel not running out of weapons without American support so Biden and Harris are "not complicit in Genocide":

I link him a guardian article proving he is lying (JordanLund has deleted my comment which just quoted a Guardian article debunking his lies):

Biden must force Israel to end the war

Recent reports in the Israeli press make clear that because of a global shortage of ammunition that started with the Ukraine war, Israel would not be able to sustain its bombardment of Gaza without the US resupplying the Israeli military.

JordanLund responds by calling TheGuardian misinformation, promptly bans me and says he supports the "rightful defense of israel".

He also piles on more lies and claims the only weapons being sent by Biden are Interceptor missiles which are "misappropriated by israel for the use in Genocide"?

Reuters Exclusive: US has sent Israel thousands of 2,000-pound bombs since Oct. 7

Between the war's start last October and recent days, the United States has transferred at least 14,000 of the MK-84 2,000-pound bombs

Lemmy.World has reached /Politics and /WorldNews communities which differ little from their Reddit counterpart.

FYI, readers of /politics are very familiar with Linkerbaan and his nonstop hammering of a single wedge issue from a single narrow viewpoint. To be honest, I believe the mod made the correct choice.

I suspect he will jump on any procedural or technical issue that he thinks he can find with the mod log, etc, and at no point discuss his own position, motivation, interest in the matter, or any other facet of his participation that indicates that he is a good faith community member. I suspect this will come with personal attacks, ad hominem arguments, insults, and false attribution of other community members beliefs (including calling them, racist or genocidal) instead of addressing his own behavior.

hammering of a single wedge issue

Genocide is kinda big deal dude.

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Yeah. Only problem is that op wants people to let trump take the Whitehouse, so it's clear they have ulterior motives.

[-] RobotToaster@mander.xyz 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

So people that want to vote for anti-genocide candidates, rather than the blue cheek of the same pro-genocide butthole, are the problem?

Making personal attacks against people who agree that it's a big deal but say that voting third party is counterproductive, though, is hammering a wedge issue from a narrow viewpoint.

Tho problem for me isn't viewing the genocide as bad. I am in full agreement there. The problem is the response to people who disagree about the most effective way to stop it.

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I believe the mod made the correct choice.

What choice? Last I heard they reversed a bunch of his bans and decided against banning him from .world, which is what should've been done

[-] distantsounds@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

This is a major issue. There are over 40,000 already counted dead and most are civilians. Dismissing the US’s aid in the destruction is disgusting.

…and your 2nd paragraph is whining about what you yourself are doing in your first. Gross

[-] lengau@midwest.social 4 points 2 months ago

Pointing out someone's patterns of behaviour on a thread they started about their own behaviour is not an ad hominem attack. It's an on-topic discussion of the point at hand.

Calling someone who agrees that an ongoing genocide is dreadful but believes the suggested course of action will make it worse a genocide enabler, on the other hand, is an ad hominem.

[-] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

You believe that i should be permabanned from politics for linking an article saying israel would have ran out of weapons if not for Joe Biden resupplying them because that's "misinformation"?

FYI readers, Aubeynarf is also a frequent poster on /Politics. You can guess what type of "nuanced viewpoint" he posts.

You were banned for repeatedly saying Joe Biden and now Kamala Harris are personally responsible for the genocide being committed by Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu.

You want to make it sound like Biden and Harris are out there personally pulling the triggers dropping bombs.

NONE of that is true and I gave you extraordinarily free rein in both World News and Politics.

But when you went off calling Harris "The Vice President of a Genocide" and then doubled down again and again, that was the end for you.

You're passionate on a topic that we both agree on, but your passion has taken you off the deep end into conspiracy theory bullshit and nonsense.

You really should focus more on holding Israel accountable for Israel's actions... like snipers killing kids:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/02/gaza-palestinian-children-killed-idf-israel-war

https://truthout.org/articles/israel-has-tripled-the-number-of-children-its-killing-via-gunfire-in-west-bank/

Israel has been committing war crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria for DECADES before Biden and Harris held political office. They are not to blame here, Israel is. Bibi is. Their crimes will continue regardless of support from the US or who is President.

Blame the actual perpetrators, not those you imagine are involved via six degrees of separation.

[-] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 13 points 2 months ago

Come on man. He flat out says it not a genocide so he can keep helping and supporting Israel.

https://www.reuters.com/world/biden-whats-happening-gaza-is-not-genocide-2024-05-20/

Our state department defers to Israel to investigate the war crimes caught on film.

One doesn't need to be the one pulling the trigger to be responsible.

[-] stoly@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

lol I love it when the mod comes in after to set the record straight.

While I do think that Biden is complicit in a genocide, I also think Linkerbaan is a bad-faith actor who repeatedly violates not just community rules, but the rules of lemmy.world as a whole. I've written a longer comment about it elsewhere.

Jfc bombs are not part of the iron dome

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

You should absolutely be banned from all of Lemmy, because you're obviously not arguing in good faith ever.

But instead of that, mods kowtow to your whining and you're not banned from much, if anything, ever. They even reverse bans which were an appropriate response to your toxicity. You get people banned or their comments deleted when they call you out.

It's like Facebook where tone is policed but intent is ignored. A lot of people see that you're doing bad shit and no one is stopping you. You whine about every little response to your toxicity.

I'm sure you totally won't claim that I'm a Zionist or genocide supporter/enabler, because that's totally not your response to all disagreement or criticism /s

I'm also sure you won't make a weird claim about me being a "stalker" because I once said I have questioned myself in thinking you post so much and as a result, checked your profile /s

Edit: for a better view of this user's behavior pattern, see: https://lemmy.world/post/18634532

I recommend skipping the sob story and reading the comments

I think you're crazy, and you need to get off the internet and touch grass. Jesus christ. Just, idk ? Move on with your fucking life? You're internet comments do nothing and help nothing for your 'cause'.

The emotional unhingement on some of y'all lemmy users is seriously concerning.

Like, someone needs to call the dam police on y'all, cause this extremist nonsense here, I feel as though someone as delusional as yourself, is going to do something stupid to hurt people.

You're getting government watch list type of attention.

Lemmy.world has always been home for Zionists, the admins and moderators have made that clear.

[-] Blaze@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

General question: is there any alternative news communities to the ones on LW and lemmy.ml? Seems like there is some demand

[-] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Lemmy.Zip has one which occasionally shows up and is pretty good https://lemmy.world/c/globalnews@lemmy.zip

The centralization issue around Lemmy.World is starting to become a bigger issue now the mods are actively censoring any opinion which does not match their own.

[-] Blaze@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

Ah yes, forgot about Lemmy.zip! They are a good alternative indeed, hopefully they'll catch up with all the debates on the Media checker bot

[-] Draconic_NEO@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Too bad that my internet policy seems to be interfering with all zip sites. Doesn't connect even when I change DNS. Though weirdly it does work when I use it with a VPN or Warp (which is also kind of a VPN but not really).

[-] Blaze@feddit.org 1 points 2 months ago

That's sad indeed

[-] Diva@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago

State department approved moderation policy, these people must have been extremely obedient hall monitors in high school
