Fuck Bolsonaro. Brazil elected a corrupt disease to humanity and earth is breathing again

The really fun thing is that, nearly every week, there's news about IBAMA (the govt agency that does the whole environment protection thing) and the army blowing up illegal mining operations. The night news TV almost looks like an action movie with all the explosions!

Bozo did everything he could to keep IBAMA away from the illegal miners and deforesters, this happening is one of the best middle fingers to him and his cronies

Thanks, Ibama.

And Bolsanaro is banned from running for president for the next 8 years. Things are definitely looking up in Brazil.

It's almost like most socialists are actually good people who just want to make the world a better place and don't put profits above humanity. I hope Lula keeps up with his promises and continues to bring Brazil forward. The people there definitely deserve it.

I'm starting to think he's friends with John Mastodon.

Now it just needs to drop another 90% or so 😅 😅

Deforestation dropping to -56% would certainly be ideal

For a moment I read that as "Defederation", and was thinking by myself - 'Is Amazon next in line after Meta to get defederated...'

I am dumb.

Nice. Lula is Brazil’s greatest leader.

[–] omgarm@feddit.nl 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Pretty sure they couldn't do worse than Bolsonaro.

[–] vistencluse@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Economically, it hasn't been that different from the 2 previous presidents: the one who did a coup and the one who tried it

[–] baked_tea@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Hard to build up back after that. Just not going down is a win at that point

Awesome news! This was really the last little spark to get me in a really positive mindset tonight!
