He said it but she didn't hear it and wouldn't listen anyway even if she did. Stop trying to shame the shameless and start kicking them out of society. They shouldn't be able to leave their fucking house without being questioned about their abhorrent behavior if they want to be soulless ghouls

First of all, I get what you mean and agree 100%. That said, it's interesting how you make a sharp distinction between shaming and ostracizing (saying to stop doing the former and do the latter instead), whereas I would phrase it that we should drastically ramp up the former until it turns into the latter.

Also, Winder is in GA's 10th Congressional District, not MTG's (which is the 14th). I feel like we need to give at least equal time ridiculing Rep. Mike Collins (R, obviously) for also being a fucking useless "thoughts and prayers" piece of shit about this.

I make the distinction because this shaming is just harsh words and accusal and those not only don't work for them but embolden the shitty behavior, ostracizing requires action.

My question to the politicians...

Has praying been working so far?

School shootings in the USA occur so frequently now that there is very clear evidence that prayer does not prevent them. Therefore , at what point should the strategy be changed to try something else? The most powerful people in the USA claim they have no power to stop this, yet can very significantly curtail abortion access I under the guise of protecting lives.

The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

There have been 416 school shootings since Columbine. Every time prayer is offered by politicians. Every time another school shooting was just around the corner.

so fucking tired of religion ruining everything in this country

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

To be fair, it's ruined a lot all around the world.

At first I thought that number was far too small, but then realized that was just schools, and not all mass shootings. Each time it proves the point once again, but for me it was Sandy Hook where I realized that if we don't change after that event, we're not going to change easily.

I added easily...initially I didn't, but I think any society can change its ways with enough effort. Kids dying doesn't seem to have the push needed, which says a lot about us.

Our country has decided that dead children is the price we're willing to pay for buying more weapons.

[-] burgersc12@mander.xyz 3 points 1 month ago

They don't expect a different result, this is the result they have chosen repeatedly

I really thought this was about Magic The Gathering at first

I initially think this same thing every time I see someone mention MTG on here, glad I'm not the only one.

I prefer calling her Perjury Greene for that reason and because I watched her commit blatant perjury live during the hearing about whether she was eligible for reelection after the whole treason thing she was a prominent accomplice to on Jan 6th.

The lawyer for the people of Georgia asked her about the events of that day and she "couldn't recall" anything.

Half an hour later, her own lawyer asked the same question framed in a more complimentary way and suddenly she "remembered" (read: made up) everything down to the most minute detail.

Children get murdered en masse and this vile cunt's best thought is to post on social media how she isn't going to "react".

Someone bury this deranged, vapid twat already.

nothing like thoughts and prayers to make you look like you're doing something without actually having to do a goddamn thing
