Shit, now the book is full of ads!

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 13 points 3 weeks ago

I prefer to use mybook origin

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 26 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Did you try turning the book on, then off again?

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 9 points 3 weeks ago

These links used to work back before the World Wide Web, but HTML 1.0 depreciated them.

You shouldn't hyperlink the text "click here"

https://dont-click-here.com

That's not a bad idea, but I'll have a better chance of finding water in the desert than convincing clients to have a full URL in a text block.

The page is arguing for readable, informative link titles, not url literals

My first thought: That's what short links and QR codes are for.

My second thought: Heinz says sorry for ketchup QR code that links to porn site

Also, for printing configure footnote for links.

For example in latex, if I'm printing something I redefine \href as \fn so the text is the same but the link is on footnote.

How much did you pay for that book?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 17 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

A few days ago I almost tried to pause my ebook reader before putting it down.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Sometimes I try to pause my husband. It’s probably because we have different native languages, but it always gives us a laugh
