I wanna watch a movie for Halloween tonight. Anyone with a suggestion?

I don't have too many demands other than no cheap jumpscare or overly gore movies

I watched The Substance yesterday. It's not really scary, but it's very disturbing.

The Thing!

An incredible look at paranoia and how it tears groups apart! The ending is also legendary and unmatched in cinema.

Not gory, but there are strong elements of Cronenberg style body horror. No extreme blood or gore though.

I’m going to extremely highly recommend the movie Mandy from 2018 with Nicolas Cage. Its sorta a horror movie but its mostly just an absolutely bizarre and unsettling experience.

Second half might be bit gory I honestly cant recall but I don’t think too bad. Anyway I cannot recommend it enough if you like freaky and disturbing type horror movies.

I liked Cure (1997), though it's more atmospheric than "horror" I guess

I take every chance I get to recommend Dark Water (2002). It's a supernatural movie that takes advantage of our inherent fear of drowning, but more importantly, it's about the main character's struggle to hold onto her daughter in the face of the paranormal events she's experiencing, the paranoia they're causing her, and a custody battle with her ex in the aftermath of their divorce. Maybe I was just going through a hard time when I first watched it, but it had me in tears

I love Re-Animator! There's plenty of gore but it's splat-stick: it's more absurd than shocking. Jeffrey Combs (of dozens of Star Trek roles) has a mad science duel.

What about Dominion (2018)? Couldn't function for a week after watching this
