I thought this was AI. My brain did not comprehend this at first look.

Who's that walking through my bedroom at 1am?

Ah that's just Dimitris from 3 blocks over on his way home

I love that Lemmy is/can be small enough that browsing can include the experience of 'oh there's clopclop sharing more of their Greek vacation photos, that's nice.'

I thought this was a broken texture or something for a second. Very trippy

This feels like one of those artbreeder images that look normal but you can’t actually name anything in the image

Getting real subliminal places vibes from this

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Imagine trying to deliver mail in a place like this...

[–] Chreutz@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Your glutes would be impeccable

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And your calves 😱

But honestly I was thinking more about finding the various addresses 😛

Would be easier to have boxes for groups of residents.

At least here in sweden this is quite standard even for completely normal grids of separate houses, it just generally makes more sense to centralize things like mailboxes, parking, garbage bins, etc

If the human mind produced AI, then Santorini, a product of the human mind, should look alike.

[–] 0x0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sure, but if humans evolved from monkeys, how come there are still monkeys?

[–] XTornado@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

(probably you are just a troll or just joking but anyway)

Evolution is not a linear path with stages. It's like a tree with branches, some branches go further other stay as they are.

Similar to a family tree you might be a descendant of Napoleon, and he had some special thing like a longer fingernail (just a shitty fake example of mutation/evolution) and you also have that. But others who are also descendants didn't get that "evolution". They'd still exist is just that they were in another branch and they didn't "evolve" with the longer fingernail. This an oversimplification as genes could skip a generation for example and other stuff I probably missed but it gives the general idea.

Santorini would break AI. So illogical that no computer could ever replicate it.

ERROR! ERROR! HOUSE CAN NOT GO THERE, IT IS A VOLCANO!

[–] v_krishna@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I've been there. Unfortunately like most AI it's actually mostly just logistic regression.

[–] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Serious question, where's the road? Is there one? Like, if I want to get to my house, do I need to climb my neighbor's stairs?

[–] Hazdaz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

There is a main road in the "middle" and then small side paths that go to these houses. And the houses usually share common walls. It is all VERY tight. I wouldn't even bike on most of those roads because it is also very hilly and steps all over. Literally thousands of years before cars so most people have to walk.

I went in the off season in 2006, in April. It was great value. If you ever want to see so ething cool, see Easter in Greece.
