I know I snore, im not trying to figure that out. But I do want to record whenever I talk in my sleep. Im looking for an app that'll only record when that happens.

Ive used SnoreLab. It records great, but it locks a lot of recordings behind a subscription, and im not looking to pay to hear my midnight ramblings.

Basically an app that only records when there's sound, and free. Any suggestions?

I've used (and loved) Sleep as Android for yeeears. It's a great app and the developer is always adding extra things, new wearable integration and stuff. So, I really don't mean to bitch because I think it's a solid app with solid support. But I recommended it to a friend the other day and they pointed out the unlock is now €69.99!! I~~ think it was a fiver when ~~just checked my email, it was €1.99 in 2013 when I unlocked it.

Defintely recommend, and I think the free version is still pretty amazing. But wow, even with extra features, that's some inflation.

I've used this nightly for years and it's been great for me. It takes some time to adjust the sensitivity to capture midnight ramblings properly, but the recordings are freely accessible and easily saved if you want to keep them.

I used to use Sleep As Android. All kinds of functionality. Monitors your sleep and records when an "event" happens. Talking in your sleep, snoring, sirens. Easy to review sounds. Charts integrations alarms you name it. Don't use it anymore cause I just don't care about my sleep habits.

This app worked great for me too!

Can you set to delay recording? I like to fall asleep listening to something for like an hour, but dont want to record that.

Wait, will it even work if you play youtube in a browser at the same time?

It will work in the background so browsing phone while sleeping will get "recorded" in a way.

I am quite sure it doesn't record anything while you're in the awake phase that is a set amount of time at every start of sleep.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago

Ah ok, i didn't notice an awake time you can set. That's exactly what i was asking about. Thanks!

My Samsung watch records when I snore and can be played via the Health app.

I have used it for years and agree it's solid.
