Turkey should be invaded by a coalition of Syria, Armenia, Russia, Kurdistan and Iran for it's crimes against the Kurds, Armenians and it's support of the Palestinian genocide. I can't believe Erdogan gets away with pretending to support Palestine while materially aiding Israel. Fucking hell, put this opportunist down already. The Kurdish rebels should car bomb him, IRA style

You want Turkey hate just go to Germany.

But predictably, you’ll find it for the wrong reasons

I think we're kind of burned out on it. There was a close following of Turkish fascism for a few years but afaik there hasn't been any real movement and it's gotten eclipsed by other emerging nightmares.

It's not that it isn't important, but there's so much happening all the time. No one person could hope to keep track of everything. It's so overwhelming.

There has been a fair amount of discussion of Turkish infiltration of the US government within the US, as it seems like every other government official is taking comically ridiculous bribes from the Turkish government. The mayor of NYC is currently being indicted for it.

You might check in with the /c/News mega. It's more international than the rest of the site, there are likely people there who are up to date.

Because of their positions on ukraine calming down russiaboos, their reaproachment with Assad calming down shiaboos and their support for Azerbaijan calming down genocidal natoids. Remember that Trump threw the kurds under the bus because he thought they were commies, nobody will help the ypg.

Why don't you go over there and help the YPG clamp down Syrian oil assets yourself? 😁

[–] Halloweenbean@hexbear.net 5 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

My point exactly. Turkey is in the goldilocks zone of murdering Armenians, Kurds, Syrians and potentially Russians if we ever have ww3. For geopolitical reasons their victims are on their own.

Truly a shame the US is not providing unlimited support for the Kurdish ethnostate. I just wish someone would look after them uwu

Yeah, but they're a NATO country, so shrug-outta-hecks

There was a lot more back in 2019 and earlier, but Turkey hasn't really had a big offensive against Kurds in a while. They also have a lot of local military industry, and often buy stuff from non-NATO countries (S-400), so there isn't much we in Amerikkka can do (Amerikkka also doesn't do much trade with Turkey, so we can't really boycott).

I basically never think of Turkey. If no one brought it up, I'd probably forget it exists.

There’s kinda nothing we can do about it. He’s a two-faced fascist but since he has his fingers in all the pies, we can’t hope for any change without massive shifts within America, the EU, and NATO

[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 11 points 20 hours ago

If nothing else, he took advantage of a coup (I think it was staged) to enact purges and is single handedly responsible for the further crashing of the value of the Lira by ignoring all advice on interest rates and doing the opposite of what economists recommended.

The same reason why hating Japan is frowned upon, theyre not white

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 10 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (2 children)

Turkey is white as fuck lol

Also, Japan’s not hated because they’ve become a western satellite state with a cultural veneer that still makes them seem exotic.

[–] Enjoyer_of_Games@hexbear.net 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Someone posted this video a little while ago that details how Japan intentionally constructed that veneer for this very purpose.
