KDE Plasma crashes on me all the time, but it doesn't seem to make any difference? I get a pop up to submit a bit report, which always fails, and it just keeps right on trucking throughout. I dunno what to make of it.

Community rules (click to expand)
1. Follow the site-wide rules
- Instance-wide TOS: https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
- Lemmy code of conduct: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/code_of_conduct.html
2. Be civil
- Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
- Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
- Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
- Bigotry will not be tolerated.
- These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
3. Post Linux-related content
- Including Unix and BSD.
- Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of
sudo
in Windows. - No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
4. No recent reposts
- Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
Please report posts and comments that break these rules!
Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. This is a meme community -- even the most helpful comments might just be shitposts that can damage your system. Be aware, be smart, don't fork-bomb your computer.
Probably your distro disabled reporting? What distro are you using?
Isn't it off by default? (If not it should be)
Plain old Debian. I'm sure I have messed all sorts of things up in it despite my lack of fiddling.
Since debian ships pretty old packages, almost all bug reports are to be sent to debian instead of upstream. The bugs might be already fixed in newer versions, and if not, debian will report it to upsteream. So debian by default disables such reporting and that might be the reason why kde report doesn't work
That makes sense. Thank you.
The libre difference, where immediately upon starting up, your desktop manager throws an Oops!, and it shows the current power consumption in the status bar despite having no idea what the current power consumption is.
Can you share your wallpaper please ?
It's one of the default wallpapers in fedora or gnome, but for some reason i can't find it online. It's from a few versions ago
Are you using LibreOffice from the Fedora flatpak repositories? Because they crash on me all the time too
I use the preinstalled rpm package
Are the top and bottom two different programs? What's going on here?
My LibreOffice crashed. I lost my deeta! (less than 10 minutes of edits)
it is not libre if you can't see and edit what to send
