Definitely sending this to my dad

A few decades ago him and his friend were out hunting in their tree stands and his friend fell out because the tree he set his up on was pretty shit. He came out physically unscathed but his pride took one hell of a blow that day.

Edit: He got a kick out of it and told me he's forwarding it to his friends. You did good OP, you got a group of 60 year old folk to laugh their asses off with each other.

Haha, nice. If it brings joy to someone I consider that a win :)

Add the picture of him smelling money and you’ve got yourself a Greg Abbot meme.

Every tree stand i’ve had was held on by friction to the main trunk via a couple of straps. I’m not sure they make ones that sit on branches as that seems dangerous to me

Probably not, but it's a meme, don't need to be scientifically accurate imo.

I got the last 2 panels, but not the first.
What does crunching leaves have to do with the tree stand falling? Rustling leaves maybe? Or do you mean that it's an inopportune moment because something like a bear is nearby?

I'm lost 😭

I had to look up "tree stand falls" to understand this one. Was totally thinking of this:

(A picture of a Christmas tree stand)

Oo, it's a tree stand, for holding a tree up. Toke me a minute there.

What is this?

I had no clue what to think of at all

walks up to dude laying on the ground in a pile of debris and tree limbs in the forest.

I lean in close. "psst, yo. It's not supposed to sit on a limb dumbass. You wrap it around the trunk itself."

  • Then I casually walk away, leaving them there in alone, probably heavily injured and bleeding.*

Widow maker trees are a thing

And the worst part is, they are sneaky....
