Yeah that's a no go mate, I couldn't even do my job if I had a £100 phone it would end up being a cluster fuck as I need to constantly look at spreadsheets, and multiple email inboxes and work through a web Ui portal and none of that is gonna be a good experience on a phone at that price.

I've used enough of those cheap £100 phones be they new or second hand to know for someone who's actually using their phone to do work they are completely unsuitable.

this is me also, I've used transmission for over a decade across three operating systems it's incredibly simple to get going but relatively powerful if you need it to be.

Yeah it does seem the apps are currently limited in that regard, hopefully development pace will continue and we'll be up to a point where we can do that in the next few weeks.

Once the apps are in a good state we can see how viable this will be long term.

Honestly, the only one I still catch from time to time is Sean on Trek culture because all the other ones got absurdly hostile the last few years when it came to Discovery & Picard and it ended up with people quoting some truly insane alt right sources like midnights edge.

I find it better to just enjoy the shows and discuss on reddit(now lemmy) than watch these influencers.

TMP Era is just the best looking classic Star Trek experience some of the designs in my opinion were in things like Starfleet Command the video game like the Akula class, but I have a soft spot for the DS9/First Contact/Star Trek Armada period.

I have been using liftoff also but it is very difficult to find new communities not on your instance or on lemmy.world through the app I couldn't figure it out at first glance so I add them through a web browser and then can access them on the app

Justice league of Star Trek crew ultimate team up….

Where is this movie and how do I pay to see it :/ yes it would likely be terrible but seeing Kirk vs Janeway dynamic or spock vs Kira debates arguments etc

And those are the first two that come to mind

I guess some more lore for the Talosians could be cool I just hope they aren’t over used through snw

Originally I had planned to do what you’re doing and use a mini PC to upgrade from my pi4 eventually what I did was get a Mac Mini and keep the pi for pihole and dhcp.

Not saying you should get a Mac mini m2 but the power consumption was the main push for me to go down that route cause remember you’re running the thjng 24/7 for years and depending where you live electricity isn’t cheap. (I pay 32.5p per kWh)

Considering the cost the same as a decently mid range mini pc (i got mine for £500 new) it makes sense.

If you’re looking at a cheaper budget try finding something at least 8th gen intel and up for better power savings
