I say go with proxmox on the n100 (I use it), there are alternatives kvm/QEMU managers that I heard good things about as well (namely Incus https://github.com/lxc/incus)

Fuck New Sci, I went to go back to re-read part of the article to SWMBO and get "You have reached your article limit"

[-] BlueEther@no.lastname.nz 21 points 2 days ago

This has taken a long time to get this far, must try it again...

Install was painless and completed in under 60sec, boot was fast, maybe not as fast as the good old BE5 and it seems to work.

Rule 3: Don’t request or link to specific pirated titles, including DMs

But in saying that I've seen some (maybe no CCNP) tech courses on private trackers

I don't understand why they need to share anything other than "this is the campaign we want to run" eg, "we want to run an ad campaign to target adults under 30 returning to NZ, the ad will be this 'Student Loan Repayment' copy"

I watched the bit Ren did the other day saying hed drop a new 'Sick Boi' track. I don't know if this is what I was expecting, but I have to agree with Ren's sentiments.

In the last ~18 months that I've known about Ren he has only ever been down to earth, then for someone to fuck him over like this must suck.

WHAKAARI / WHITE ISLAND The Volcanic Alert Level has been raised to Level 3 at White Island and the Aviation Colour Code raised to orange.

Aviation Colour Code Orange indicates that a volcanic eruption is underway but with little or no ash being produced.

On Geonet's website, duty volcanologist Geoff Kilgour said the volcano had produced "a more vigorous plume" on Friday afternoon, moving volcanic ash to the east of the island.

Today, 10th August, Whakaari exhibited vigorous activity at the vent, which maintained a constant plume that was visibly depositing ash into the sea. The latest official information is available from GeoNet at https://www.geonet.org.nz/mbl/news/6C...

Just to clarify, a drone has no sound, from the brief times we could hear the sound it was identical to Dukono in Indonesia. This was the sound used in this video.

Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Hi all

I'm looking to replace my old IBM M3 an M4 servers with something more modern

Use case:

  • Proxmox:
    • OPNsense
    • TrueNAS
    • Plex/Jellyfin
    • Reverse proxy
    • Web servers for blogs etc
    • QBT
    • Nextcloud
    • IoT/home automation
    • A heap of linux VMs/Containers of odds and ends
    • Docker
      • arr stack
      • Dashboards
    • etc

Maybe replace the 3/4s dead laptop that is currently driving the lounge TV as well

I'm looking to hopefully replace the diskshelf at the same time and have a mix of sata and sas drives (I can carry over the HBAs for the sas)

I've not built a pc for nigh on 15 years so I'm a tad out of the loop.

From reading it looks like intel may be the best route and I was thinking of something like:

  • Core i5 12400 or Core i5 14400
  • B760M DS3H AX mATX or B660M Pro RS

I'm open to thoughts and ideas of what id doable

Edit: The IBM M4 runs E5-2650 v2 and 96GB ram

The M3 runs dual xeon 5xxx and has about 60BG ram and is only used for testing/play and is seldom powered up

After the post the other day , this is the price I have to pay for 2 visits to the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, about 10 to 12 X-rays, a CT scan, two nights in hospital (so far) and all the drugs

Glad to not live in the ‘land of the free’
