Their flag is extra wide

Cool!
The fit is very unforgiving. It might be hard to use with plastics that warp or with poorly adjusted printers... Or if the PCB is cut a bit larger.
I had trouble scaling the part and had to be... Creative. Thats why the thumb portion's shape is strange.
Glad to see it works for you!

Just a quick post to share the case I designed for my Cheapino.
Many people were curious to get the files for it so here they are.

I've never done real CAD, so I had to bash it in tinkercad.
I'll try to learn to model properly and iterate on it eventually, but I am short on time right now.
It should make it much more usable on delicate surfaces in the meantime!

This is the first time I built a keyboard!
A cheapino!
It took a little bit of time to get everything figured out, but I was able to finish that build relatively easily.
However, I am having trouble customizing the layout... I can't load it in the qmk.fm tool and when I upload a json file it gives me something that doesn't match my keyboard.
Also, the encoder currently types 'y' when turned right, I got 2 thumb keys working as spaces and I don't have a modifier key.
As far as I can tell, everything is soldered right, the diodes are in the right direction...
Did I mess up my soldering or is the cheapino firmware buggy?
Any app that can help me flash/customize my keyboard? I'll keep googling.
Thanks!

Hi all,

I am curious how you use your MOCs to organize your vaults.
Nick Milo's LYT example is really nice, but seems super complex to me. I think I get why MOCs are useful, but I am also looking from inspiration elsewhere.

Do you dump all your notes in a single folder and then make MOCs to help navigate them?
Have you been using tags?
Are there any tips/best practices on maintaining MOCs?

I've been using a directory structure based on the note's subjects, but quickly bumped into a problem: some notes fit in more than one subject.
Tags have been of help, but it's getting out of hand the way I use them.
I believe using MOCs might be the answer for me, but I also fear it might be too cumbersome to maintain.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I really like obsidian and use it even though I usually prefer FOSS tools. It just suits my needs perfectly at the moment.
Having the markdown files on my drive is the primary reason I don't stress over it too much.
I'll probably start using Zettlr if it improves significantly or if I feel betrayed by Obsidian.

It definitely is an interesting and there might be some merit to it. I'm just worried. Let's say I post in lemmygrad for any reason and then comment something unrelated and neutral on a beehaw post. Will I be silenced because of that first instance's bad reputation? Maybe I'm thinking too much.

nonono, It's not that. I haven't lurked there for very long, but it seemed that they were trigger-happy on bans from what I gathered. I don't have examples at the moment and the modlog feature doesn't seem to work well..

I am exploring Lemmy right now and what I see is very worrying to me, but I also don't understand wth is going on with some instances here. I don't know if it's smart to post this, but here we go.

I am partial to Marxist and anarchist ideology, but lemmygrad looks completely unhinged to me. Is it a parody? Some content is fine and some of it is insane.

On the other hand, beehaw looked super inviting from the outside and I even applied to join them. Then, I looked closer and that instance's moderation looks totalitarian and rigid in the other way. (I understand why they blocked lemmygrad though...)

I'm seeing this impact other communities in different ways and there's some kind of witch hunt happening on both sides...

I want to interact with people that can respect each-other and that can hold open-minded discussions about any topics without devolving into some tribal war.

Edit: I realize my post is not a simple question... Let me clarify some thoughs:
-I do not mean beehaw is far-right. The just seem strict and that's their right.
-I worry profiles can "inherit" the bad reputation of instances they interacted with and get pre-emptively banned.
-People are used to reddit and tend to centralize. Is the "just switch community" really an option?
-English is far from my first language and I might've judged things too quickly/harshly so take my criticism with a grain of salt.
