For me the "defending it" is the line. So long as the person is honest in doing it just to pay their bills, that's good enough. And it's obviously better if they're an actual comrade and do praxis some other way in their life.

I've also ended a friendship over a friend trying their damnedest to portray the landlord and hedge fund corporation she worked at as "progressive actually". I think there's this tendency to force oneself to believe one's work is always a net positive for the world somehow.

It's a good wake up routine for me, prevents me from falling back asleep after the alarm rings.

There's probably a cool thesis that could be written about a contradiction within the "America First" movement by being both anti-war and USA exceptionalist in times of decaying imperialism that can only maintained through war. Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard are the best examples of this.

Viv Ansanm (Let’s Live Together), a contested, criticized, feared – but above all misunderstood – entity, extends a generous hand to those who, only yesterday, refused even to acknowledge its “political” existence. This proposal is an invitation to dialectics. Not to compromise, but to the co-construction of reality.

I'm of the opinion that the continual and prolonged defeat of NATO against Russia is much better for the international proletariat than a proper "defeat" and withdrawal. It's better for their resources to be bogged down in Ukraine for another decade like it's their own Afghanistan than diverted into more winnable wars.

Today is the first day of Pride Month, a celebration of the Stonewall Riot in 1969. Now uprisings are breaking out all over the country. Wealthy, white gay men today might be opposed to “violence,” but the history of the LGBTQ+ movement shows that riots of oppressed people are about liberation.

From 5 years ago, reads as if written today.

Fanon quote:

Each generation must, out of relative obscurity, discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it. [...] For us who are determined to break the back of colonialism, our historic mission is to authorize every revolt, every desperate act, and every attack aborted or drowned in blood.

Losing my password to the old account here actually tanked my mental health. Glad to be back!
