You arent kidding. I've been trying to justify spending $275 on some Super Red Ember Bees or "settle" for $150 on six Blonde Rubber Ducky isopods.

I'm running Action Launcher mainly for the alphabetized app drawer that pulls out from the left side of the screen and the "Covers" feature.

Clicking on Instagram opens up Instagram. Swiping up on it reveals the folder with all my social apps hidden inside. Nearly every icon is a cover.

Keeps all my apps really quick to access without cluttering up my screen. I only have the one home screen, no need for other pages with this feature and and frequently used app drawer that pops in from the right.

I'm using an icon pack called "Viral".

I've been using a bunch of abstract backgrounds I generated using Midjourney a while ago. This is my current use one.

I can't remember where I found this one, I've had it for a while, probably by searching "Oled phone wallpaper".

I work in a customer facing position in the US where factions of an inch are used for measurements frequently in the design of a product. I deal with people who don't know 5/8 is smaller than 3/4 or that 3/8 is smaller than 1/2 on literally a daily basis.

People are dumb and I absolutely believe the burger anecdote.

That argument is a very short (not very detailed) way of surmising the current issue with our world as a whole.

Don't like how cars have taken over the world, are the reason cities are hard to live in for low income families, and cause massive amount of climate damage? You can thank the 1% for that.

Frustrated with how you don't really own anything, your digital "property" can be taken away from you at a moments notice, and that everything you enjoy gets stuffed with schemes to make more money off of vulnerable people? You can thank the 1% for that.

Angered that health care costs truly absurd amounts, that medicine is sold to the consumer with a 10,000% mark up, or that a single accident that was not their fault could land someone in debt for life? You can thank the 1% for that.

A disturbing amount of things that are not good for our planet, keep the poor people poor, and generate inferior products/experiences is directly because of the insane power that the rich hold over our worlds systems.

"It helps someone I don't like because they are richer than me" is actually a wonderful definition of harm.

Reddit used to be an amazing place of community and content that you couldn't find anywhere on the internet. Then in the pursuit of money and the power that the 1% have Reddit (the company) started implementing practices that actively made the experience worse for the user, violated a person's ownership of their content, and removed choice just like authoritative/dictatorship governments do.

It feels to most people that there is nearly nothing that can be done about it. So when a person has the opportunity to directly go against the rich caste in our world they will take that opportunity immediately.

I recommend taking a hard look at the things that concern you with our world, or cause you pain/annoyance/discomfort and try and learn WHY the issue is the way it is. The majority of the time is because some rich person/group of people (I'm looking at you lobby groups) has an obscene amount of power compared to all of the people affected.

Lastly there is a reason that "Tax the rich/Eat the rich" is the rally cry of generations.

It's because the rich cause us harm.

I landed myself a solid salary job as a head of a department and as a reward my wife gave me permission to go wild with a new Keeb.

Enter the blue beauty.

Mode Sonnet - Navy body, brass bass, brass internal weight. Internal silicone mat, foam kit, POM plate, Durock V2 Gold Stabilizers.

Gateron Oil King linear switches.

GMK Blue Samurai doubleshot ABS Keycaps.

I am in love with looks and feel of this thing and can wait to put in some hours in front of the computer with it.

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this kind of question, my options on Lemmy are kind of limited.

I play around a lot with experimental types of music and have been using a series of poly-rythm soundscapes that I have created for sleep aid. A couple of friends tried out the stuff I created and said it was amazing for sleep and relaxation.

This gave me the idea for an app that created the poly-rythm soundscapes using simple(ish) formulas that allowed the user to change the scale, scale mode, duration, ambient effects, and poly-meter type to suit their preferences.

I am currently injured and am on disability so have all time and boredom in the world to throw into this project.

My entire programming experience was a single semester of Visual Basic in 2003.

Where would I begin to bring something like this into existence? Thanks in advance.

Context: I currently have a back injury and as such my sleep schedule has been destroyed. There are days that I simply cannot get comfortable no matter where I sit/lie.

The other night I was restless and couldn't get comfortable but was feeling tired. I wanted to brew myself a cup of tea but as luck would have it we had run out of fill-able tea bags. I pulled out the metal tea infusers and found that due to an improper cleaning at last use and who knows how long they had been sitting idle they were absolutely disgusting. Some had mold spots and one appeared to be rusting (how aluminum rusts I don't know).

I REALLY wanted my tea so I busted out my cleaning tools and got to work. She woke up to use the restroom and heard me in the kitchen and made it a point to call me out for being weird and that no one in their right mind would be doing what I was doing.

Is that a fair assessment? I only spent about 50 minutes cleaning them.

I swapped out the momentary switch for a standard on/off switch from Amazon for my Eureka Mignon Filtro grinder.

The tiny act of not having to stand there pressing the button in the whole time you are grinding coffee seems petty and ridiculous but genuinely results in a better routine overall. I am now free to focus on other aspects of coffee prep and as a result the routine, even if just for the short time the beans are grinding, is improved

I like multitasking. What can I say.

Are you (like me) just a little bit extra? Do you often make things WAY harder than they need to be? Have I got the keeb mod for you!

After applying each layer of tape to your pcb go ahead and throw the whole unit in a vacuum seal bag for MAXIMUM tape to board contact!

Will it make any noticeable difference? Probably not. Does it look awesome? Uh-huh! Does it scratch your itch of needing to feel different and sightly superior than the masses? Abso-fricken-lutely.

Keychron Q1 Pro (taped, foamed), Tecsee Coral switches (two-stage spring, lubed, filmed), ACGAM Gradient Side Engraved OEM Profile Keycap Set.

I found this nice piece of wood in the scrap pile. I think it's red oak but can't be positive. profiled it and performed a super sketchy cut on the table saw to give it a nice even bevel.
