It's what drove me to wrestling torrents, The WWE network was great, it had chapters, and the stuff was easy to find, then they sold it off to Peacock and stuff is hard to find, they have no chapters, they censored some of the old controversial stuff, it's just a lesser experience than the old Network. I'm very interested to see how it's integrated into Netflix, and if they move the US to Netflix when the Peacock deal is over.

I have a junk gmail box that I use with no real info on it, I linked it then immediately unlinked it, and that seems to have worked. So I guess if you wanted to do this portion but not give them access you could make a Gmail you will never use just to link then unlink.

Well if that argument works out for the studios, Oneida better get ready because I'll be seeing them in court. After all, they made the spoons that I used to eat the ice cream that made me fat.

Assassin's Creed Origins, I picked up the 3 pack last year of Origins, Valhalla, and Odyssey on sale, and am just having the time to sit down to play Origins.

Those of us in the U.S. can say oh that's so China but Presidential candidate Nikki Hayley floated the same thing recently saying "Every person on social media should be verified by their name. It’s a national security threat,” she has since walked it back some after being called out for it, but authoritarians will probably come back to the idea.

WB Discovery is still getting their cut from Westworld, Raised by Wolves, and a dozen or so others by licensing it out to The Roku Channel streaming service of all things. So those actors went from getting scraps from HBO Max to probably next to nothing from Roku. I don't know if that's worse than having the content completely removed or not considering Roku is like Pluto TV and airs things more like cable.

Is Wired out here taking stories from YouTubers? I swear Linus Tech Tips covered this entire thing months ago, saying basically to stick to Fire, Onn or Chromecast devices.

Now that's not exactly what the polling data says, it says 23% plan to get the shot, while another 23% might get the shot. I'd like to think those who say they might get it will definitely get it but we know a lot of them won't be getting the shot.

The search function is nice and really appreciated. But, from my experience, the biggest problem with Mastodon is how much work you have to put into curating a feed, something traditional social media has done some of the work for you. I mean it's fairly simple once you get the hang of it, but a lot of people are used to having their hand held.

Also, I'm not looking to piss people off, but I think in terms of the users on the platform it is extremely progressive, and non-progressive people will be less likely to engage with that.

It required a $200 special external HD-DVD player to do so. Man, I feel bad for people who bought... oh wait, I bought two. :(

By the end, they were selling for like $50 and giving away discs.

I now try not to be the first to buy anything "new tech," I was certain HDR and Dolby Vision were going to do the same as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD and one would kill the other, it could still happen but maybe not.

In recent years, copyright holders have repeatedly requested Plex to take more action against piracy.

Their preferred method of logging into your own home server by going through their website should really give you pause when reading about how anti-piracy organizations pressure them.

Anonymous Data

In addition to the information described above, Plex collects anonymised data when users interact with our services. This includes:

  • Server / library data
  • DVR device information: manufacturer name and model

There have been numerous stories over the years about how anonymized data isn't really anonymous.
