Beside the Panama Canal, they want to control the Northwest Passage, so that means controlling both Canada and Greenland. Churchill will be handy until the planet warms enough for all the ice to melt.

Wow, it used to be "A chicken in every pot." This election, the promises are getting out of hand.

Canada had (has?) a similar problem:

The breakdown in negotiations was mostly due to Canada’s insistence on the UK loosening its food safety regulations, according to several people familiar with the matter.

Canada’s agriculture and food processing market is geared toward exporting to the US, where practices such as chemical carcass-washing and hormone-injected beef and pork are commonplace. In the EU, and the UK by virtue of its former membership of the bloc, such practices are banned.

In 2018, journalistic group Investigate Europe released a video documentary via German public television network ARD that claimed that the majority of city workers were satisfied with the operating system, with council members insinuating that the reversal was a personally motivated decision by lord mayor Dieter Reiter. Reiter denied that he had initiated the reversal in gratitude for Microsoft moving its German headquarters from Unterschleißheim back to Munich.

Maybe MS will have to move again.

The proposed rules

How about adding a link to those rules.

"Nothing is guaranteed. We're in a volatile circumstance," federal Health Minister Mark Holland acknowledged last week.

"I will be relentless in making sure that we finish," he said. "I don't think we need a lot of time to do it. We need a little bit more."

"Well, I misspoke. Sh*t happens. Lesson learned," Clark later posted on social media.

The business advocacy group says its "Stay with B.C." campaign is placing advertisements on billboards and transit stops, as well as online in cities such as Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna and Prince George, urging residents to think twice before moving to Alberta for economic or other reasons.

Turnout was 16 per cent — significantly down compared to previous federal byelections this year, which saw around a 40 per cent turnout.

In a statement posted to its website, Norway-based Greig Seafood wrote, "It was a human error, and we are looking into our routines and how we transfer fuel in the future to make sure this does not happen again."

The company has hired Strategic Natural Resource Consultants to clean up the spill.

Strategic told the province that absorbent booms were placed around the spill site but that they were "unable to locate recoverable diesel on the water," according to the incident report.

Former B.C. premier John Horgan was remembered as a loving father and dedicated politician on Sunday afternoon — but also a man whose comic timing and collaborative spirit made for a lasting legacy.

The ruling B.C. NDP has announced a co-operation agreement with the B.C. Green Party that Premier David Eby says will "strengthen the stability of government and help deliver on the priorities of British Columbians."

Entitled the 2024 Co-operation and Responsible Government Accord, the document outlines a list of priorities agreed upon by the parities, including health care, affordable housing and the economy.

"Our hands are outstretched to any MLA that wants to work with us on [our] key priorities with just one bright line exception: we will not tolerate hate, discrimination, conspiracy theory garbage."

Radio-Canada contacted the 17 named MPs several times; none of them responded to interview requests. Those whom Radio-Canada tried to approach in person refused to comment.

In a statement posted to X by Horgan's press secretary Sheena McConnell, the Horgan family said he passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria on Tuesday morning.

"Our hearts are broken to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and friend, John Horgan," the statement reads.

"The wellbeing of British Columbia and everyone in it was everything to him.

"Live long and prosper," the statement concludes, with a nod to Horgan's love of Star Trek.
