Yeah, I hate it when things are more convenient, quicker to accomplish, take up less of the day and allow me to do more in less time! If I can't spend more than two hours a day stuck in traffic am I even living!?

It's so shocking?! I'm looking at a Ranger out in the car park right now and trying to imagine something bigger parked out there?! It wouldn't fit within the bounds of the parking space?! Already if there were two Rangers parked next to each other there wouldn't be enough room to walk between them, even if you turned side on :-/ Let alone having room to be able to open the door and get in & out?!

In fact I can see that it's had a flow on effect whereby every other parked car has had to park on the extreme edge of their space to allow room to open the door and get out. If there was one more Ranger anywhere along the line someone would be likely blocked from getting in or out of their car!

Yikes?! A Ford RANGER is considered a small truck to you?? They're part of the growing plague of stupidly large trucks in my part of the world!? :-/ I mean I knew the US had big trucks but I never thought the Ranger would be considered the small alternative?! We're so screwed?! :-(

Wow, I'm amazed that you're having to explain this to people?! I thought we knew this already?? Good on you for taking the time to patiently explain it so clearly for those that somehow missed that memo! Legend! :-)

I have good news! If you wait around long enough your comment will eventually become 100% correct while mine will become weird and just flat out wrong?!

No no, you've got it quite wrong, they only have 22.4k karma not 24k! 24k would be insane!!?

THIS! A million times this!! It's literally implying the opposite of their intent in that you have to have someone else HELP YOU because you OBVIOUSLY can't pull yourself up by your own bootstraps!

One way to use this phrase correctly would be "No one can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, we all need some help along the way."!

Just for a bit of context I was "surfing the internet" in 1994 via Gopher, an early alternative to the web as we know it now and I used it primarily to find and download apps stored on computers connected to the internet.

In 1995 I was using the Mosaic browser and later Netscape to surf the World Wide Web mostly via webrings that were individual webpages that had links to other wepages of similar content linked to them.

I don't recall and am not aware of anything that would resemble a meme from that time? This is a year or so before Dancing Baby which is usually considered the first viral video and even then that was originally shared via email forwards.

Yeah, I'm fullly aware of all the other 9s used which is why I suggested they could just as easily say they're aiming for 7 9s or as Amazon does, 9 9s or any other basically impossible to hit asperational goal that's nice to try for but for SOME REASON the most often quoted / used one is 6 9s? Coincidence you say? Is it super important to aim for 30 seconds per year versus about 5 min per year? Why not aim for 3 seconds / year rather than 30 seconds? Because then you can't say 6 9 Nice! That's literally the only reason right?

LOL That number of nines is specifically referenced by an industry dominated by tech bros though. It could just as easily be 5 9s or 7 9s but for some reason it has to be 6 9s? And I know it's a recurring joke for LTT but that doesn't mean you should put it, or ANY joke into an apology video of all things?! What were they THINKING?! Besides it's a tired and souless attempt at humour that should've been retired years ago

Yikes, after reading that thread in its entirety I unsubbed from their channel. They will have to do a LOT to get me to ever come back. I'm not sure if that's even possible?

I think that's one of two separate ways to solve some of the problems. Yes, there's long lasting, industrial style, built like a tank and made to last that costs a lot as one solution. But there could also be cheaper products that wouldn't last as long except that when something does go wrong you could buy a fairly cheap replacement part and swap it out using readily available tools. Both solutions can and should exist and would serve different markets.
