It's just fanboys being fanboys. Doesn't really matter what brand it is. I just think there happens to be many many more apple fanboys than there are for other brands.

Nah, there's one key difference between lemmy users and Reddit users. They behave mostly the same, but there is also a sense of superiority where they just think they know better because of the platform they choose to use.
I always thought the big "issue" people were expecting wasnt that the tax returns were going to show anything illegal or noteworthy, but rather they would instead just show that he is worth way less than he goes around claiming.
No, it's the episode of discovery where he is mentioned. It feeds his ego directly.
I reported his channel for harassment way back when this all started and I know a bunch of other people did too. So glad YouTube cares...
But you would also have to be a total asshole and go around harassing strangers who are just trying to get on with their lives.
True, reddit though does at least seem to have a lot more active niche communities you can go to with active moderation (sometimes too much though) so it's easy to at least get plenty of content without having to deal with that. Lemmy, not so much.
This case is very local to me so I have been following a lot of the discussion about it.
Way too many people are too quick to call for this guy's death or saying that he deserved to get shot. And I just can't disagree more. But I do also get why people are sympathetic to the shooter though, cause he very much is also a victim in all this as well.
This guy though absolutely deserves consequences for these stupid "pranks" and he absolutely should not be earning any kind of money from this. Seriously fuck that guy.
Yea, it is definitely a turn off. A lot of people on lemmy are not just passionate about what they believe, they are basically evangelical about it to the point that they seem like they need to not only convince everyone how right they are, but be assholes to anyone who disagrees. Whether it's political, or about software, or whatever.
Like, I agree with you. But you know her supporters either don't care or will come up with some crazy way to justify it.
I'm all for paying devs for their work, but I am still finding the pricing for the lemmy version of sync just too high. The ad free purchase is 4 times more than it was for the reddit app. And I get that there are probably less users so he needs to make up the difference, but there's also way less content on lemmy than there was on Reddit, impacting the value there in my opinion.
This an article from the daily mail, I don't think it counts as news.
